All the very best to our men’s football team who take on St.Kevin’s GAA Melbourne in the Championship Final today at Gaelic Park in Melbourne. Kevin’s got the chocolates by the barest of margins in the league final so fingers crossed the Gaels can reverse that result today! 🤞 Some silverware would look great up at Hurst Reserve. Good luck boys!!

As it is national Volunteers Week, I, (Anthony) would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who makes our grasshoppers seasons possible. Coming off of one of our biggest seasons yet, we look forward to an even bigger and better 26/27 season. It’s not possible without the enormous amount of time and effort put in by our wonderful coaches, referees on competition days and our parents. Whether it be helping with coaching duties, selling merch or cooking the bbq, we appreciate you all! To those behind the scenes in roles for both the and the grasshoppers, we thank you too! ❤️

Hi Grasshopper families, this Sunday, Melbourne Demons host Brisbane to celebrate the life and story of Jim Stynes. For anyone with an Irish passport, you can show it (or photo of it) at Gate 3 for free admission! Another exciting part of the day will be our senior hurlers from having a hurling demonstration/come and try setup, right outside of Gate 3! They will be set up from 12:45-4pm
This is a fantastic opportunity for our club to showcase what we’re about, so please feel free to share around.
BWhether you support either team or not, this promises to be a fantastic day for our Irish community and anyone else involved, or looking to get involved with our club. You are encouraged to wear green. 🇮🇪☘️

That’s a wrap on our Grasshoppers season for 2025/26!What a way to finish our season, with a great turnout of kids in all age groups. To celebrate St Patrick’s Day, we had face painting, Irish dancing from the wonderful kids of a BBQ, and amazing coffee from Our kids had a great session followed by a snag, zooper doopers and lollies courtesy of Then to top it off, our hurlers were led on to the pitch by the bagpiper for an exhibition hurling match!
It was a great day and a fitting finale for our Grasshoppers season! Thank you to all our amazing coaches, the kids and to all the parents for their support. We can’t wait for 2026/27!

Our final Grasshoppers session for the season is this Sunday! Training will be combined with celebrations! We will have Irish dancers, face painting, bbq and a senior hurling exhibition game. Come on down from 9:45am and celebrate our amazing 2025/26 season!

Well, what a day! Geelong Gaels Grasshoppers first ever went off with a bang! From Cork to Donegal, May to Dublin, we had 12 teams and 12 counties represented. 80+ kids (some first timers!) was a great turnout as the took to the pitches of Croke Park to Semple Stadium! Football, Hurling and even some target practice had the skills on show. Big thanks to our parents, volunteers and our wonderful coaches. Together we brought JR’s little dream to life. The main games saw rivals Paul (Meath) and Ger (Dublin) share the points! They remain friends.. It was such a blast and we can’t wait to do it again next season!

Hi all!
Just one more sleep before our first ever Mini All Ireland competition! We hope the kids are as excited as we are!
A reminder to please aim to arrive between 9:30-9:45am, ready for a 10am start.
I am aware the weather looks a little dicey but we will carry on in light rain. If we get thunderstorms we will temporarily halt competition.
I have attached an amended team sheet. Thank you to all who have contacted me regarding availability. Please double check the teams (particularly Nippers) as I have had to move some kids around to even up numbers. Once again, if your child can/cant make it, please let me know via email, or comment on this post, so our coaches are aware of their teams.

It is sure to be a great day out! If you have a county jersey or any county apparel, flags etc that you want to want to bring along to represent home, please bring them!
We’d love to see a broad representation of Ireland and love a bit of friendly banter!

Hi Grasshopper families!
Our Mini All Ireland day is this Sunday! Please check these team lists, i have made up the teams to align with our registered participants. I understand we have some new players and attendees at our trainings so if your child is not named in a team and intend on being there Sunday, please let me know via email ASAP [email protected] and I can add them to a team in their age group. Alternatively, if your child IS named but can’t attend, can you also please let me know so that I can adjust the teams and confirm our numbers. Games will commence at 10am sharp so please arrive no later than 9:45am. We can’t wait to see you Sunday! 🇮🇪🏑🏐💪🏻

Big thanks to all our wonderful grasshopper families for making the trip to Albert Park today for Noel Walsh Tournament. The weather could not have been better and the competition was just as hot! Our kids had a ball across all grades of football and some hurling for our U/8’s. Great to see there too 😊 Massive thanks to all our coaches for giving their time so the kids get to experience these days and thanks again to YM for putting on the day!
