After a stellar weekend away in Wagga Wagga where the team competed in the Tolland Handicap over the two days, the team couldn’t be happier with the all-round performances from the boys, showing all the signs of a healthy team ethos and a strong squad moving forward. The boys showcased and combined both teamwork and mateship across the two days of racing and were more than rewarded for their efforts!
Day 1 saw the boys tackle the longer, 90km course where Dylan Eather took great advantage of a generous handicap blitzing the field in what was a reduced bunch sprint, this would be Dylan’s maiden win for the team, having only joined the squad late last year! Not bad for a 16 year old!
Day 2 would see the riders take on the shorter of the two courses, with a fast, challenging and nail biting 70km race, leaving no room for the faint-hearted, the scratch men had a hard day ahead of them, and just that it was! Averaging just shy of 50km/h, the race was altogether within the final kilometres and with some quick thinking, the boys managed to group up and form what was an exceptional lead in run for Mr fast-man () unleashing his impressive track sprint, there was no stopping him as he sprinted to a convincing victory for himself and his teammates!
Overall, the weekend was a great confidence booster for the team and a showing of just what can be achieved when a healthy team environment is combined with drive, motivation and the will to go out there on race day and put it on the line for your mates!
Next up for the team is the Bathurst Cycle Classic this coming weekend where the team will look to carry a good run of results on!
