The kids had an early Easter class this week.
In the spirit of bunnies, we learnt jumping techniques! The hardest part was trying to demonstrate as as its been a long long time since I've attempted them!
It was allot of fun and there were some small Easter presents for everyone at the end!

Kids class worked on footwork kicks and knees utilising the foot work. We practiced some round kicks and three basic blocks at the end.
All the students were focused and giving it their all! A few laughs had in between serious training!

🥋🙏🥋- Kids class was a good solid training session on blocks and their application.
We started to learn solo San Dan Gi drill. At the end each student had a chance to practice the drill themselves before being asked one by to demonstrate in front of the class.
This was done not with the expectation of them getting it right but rather, to practice performing under pressure. While some found it more overwhelming than others all students pushed through their nerves and gave it 100%
A successful lesson this afternoon with everyone learning the true meaning of courage!

As a kid, I did NOT enjoy Karate. It was suuuuper boring. 😅 Pokemon and skateboarding were MUCH more fun! 🛹

But I didn’t quit... Year after year, I kept practicing (because my parents encouraged me).

Today I’m SO THANKFUL for this! 🙏

Because Karate taught me self-discipline, grit and patience. 💪 These lessons are INVALUABLE

- Life isn’t always FUN.
- Sometimes it SUCKS.
- But that’s NOT a reason to QUIT.

This is what Karate taught me... And it made me who I am today 🥋

Three of our kids Karate students train on Thursdays as well.
Krishna, Conner, and Victor trained really well today. The smaller class and matched with the older students allows for us to push through allot in a small amount of time. We done allot of repetitions of front kicks, Practiced pushups sit ups and getting up correctly, focused time into jab cross and finished with some planks for core strength.
Conner took the star tonight for getting up correctly every time even when we were just go8ng for drinks ect. It's a great habit to form and everything we do in the djo should be with purpose!
A great effort from all the kids tonight!

Kids Karate returned Tuesday. Great to see the smiles on the floor. We welcomed Matteo, Leonardo' younger brother who has watched the whole year last year waiting to be old enough to join his brother on the matt's!
Everyone was looking pretty good considering the time off.
The star went to Victor due to his maintained technique even though he only joined half way through term 4 last year!
Looking forward to class again tomorrow, getting the year off to an great start!

CLASSES ARE BACK TOMORROW!
Kids Karate and Teen Thai resumes tomorrow.

Kids Karate starts 5:00pm Tuesday 4th.
Fees are due. This term I unfortunately will be away two weeks. There will be no training week beginibg the 17th and 24th February.
This means fees are as follows for term 1
1 class a week - $120 for the term
2 classes a week $200 for the term.

Teen Thai is unaffected by my absence as Justin, one of our excellent instructors will be taking the class.
Teen Thai fees are $150 for the term and training is Tuesdays at 6 30pm.
All teens who trained last term will need to purchase a uniform $90 and a set of sparing pads $30 for training this term if they do not have them already. They will also have to purchase their own mouth guards and cups, available from sports stores, as this is nessasary sparing equipment.
New students starting this term do not need this.

I am excited to get the term underway and looking forward to seeing you all back on the floor!!
