Our final round of northen nsw coast interclub came to an end today hosted by Bryon Bay. All clubs hosted and ran the rounds beautifully and attended lunch afterwards. Our main aim was to create an atmosphere for the 3 regional clubs to compete against similiar playing standards and hopefully make some connections to match up at tournaments. Thank you to all the players who showed up for their club and played in such a friendly supportive spirit. Loved Clarence Coast Pickleball Club new shirts provided by The Wobley Chook Brewery & Raine & Horn Yamba, Maclean & Iluka care of Matt Jolly. As always thank you to Nerida the clubs backbone for all the hard work you put in to organise the CCPC teams.

Big 3 days of fantastic pickle in Ballina over the weekend attracting regional and outer state players. It was successfully run by Northern Rivers Pickleball Club and live streamed by Dylan Kimlin. The Clarence region had a good turn out of players, with most of them reaching medal rounds! The high flyers were Micheal Davidson, Gold in Open Mixed and Terry Jansen, Gold in Open Mens both players performing at their best. Very proud of Jane winning silver with Matt Jolly in mixed 50s 3.49 under and Giddy & Graham winning Silver in the mens 19 + 3.99 under going down to Rhys and Harry. Rohan and Lance scoring bronze to take out the Clarence triffecta in the same event! Big thank you to Sue Custer for teaming up with me in the Over 60s 3.5 and above mixed event, as we took the Gold with some very closely contested matches and crawling out of the venue at 9.30pm on Sunday night. Always a fun event and nice catching up with all of our pickle friends.

AMC state finals were held at Milpera, Sydney last Sat morning. Most of the age groups had pools to get through to head to finals of the best 6 of each age and gender group. Aust Pickleball Australia Association ran with ralley scoring upto 21 points and swapping servers if you won a point. Clarence Valley had a good representation at the event which was impressive. What was surprising was the difference in skill levels ranging from 3.2 to 4.8s reaching a state event which lead to lots of unbalanced games and icing.
Congrates to Micheal, Chris, Leigh and Chris Slater for making the state teams in their age groups.

QPT Goldie turned in on for the Sat Gender and Sunday Mixed with fantastic weather and high quality players. So much so that most of us battled through our pool games missing out on medals. Lance and Thor were our high flyers scoring a bronze in the Mens 50s 3.5 to 3.99.

Day 1 QTP Goldie singles events. Giddy, Paul, Jane, Leigh and Phillipa. Paul, Jane and Phillipa off early, Phillipa got bump up from 50s 4+ to opens playing well through her pools but a tough order to get into medals. Jane got into the Bronze medal play off in the 3 to 3.49 but no medal this time. Paul playing in the 60s 3.5 to 3.99 took out gold. In the arvo Giddy took out Gold in the 19s 3 to 3.49 and Leigh snagged a Bronze in his come back tour.

Finishing off a big weekend of pickle for our region. These local legends played hard and earnt their spots on the podium. Great to see Rohan Ford placing as he has been at the birth of pickleball in Grafton and has been a loyal friend to me and many others along the way. Brian from Balina also a local champion on and off the court who has mentored many players and given up so much of his time to support our game. Rhys the first guy to step up and promote and foster pickleball in Coffs with the partnership with Unleashed Pickleball Crew and westside tennis club. Love the people who you meet and get to play pickle with along the way.

Lots of pickle action on the clarence coast today. Janey and Barb taking out silver in the womens 3 to 3.5 at the Grafton Pcyc tourney, Nathan Hayman and Mark Avery winning gold in mens 3 to 3.5. Four members of Clarence Coast Pickleball Club representing Fair Dinkum Pickleball today at the regional Australian masters Cup with 3 of us earning spots to progress to the state finals. Well done Micheal and Chris in the 50s mens and I took out the 60s mens.

Mixed doubles at Gold Coast Grand Slam. Rhys rising up with his new partner to take Silver from a big field. Janet, Harry, Giddy, Dean and Leigh Wright having a a good go at it. Harry continues to enter Hybrid only to end in tears scoring a Silver to lose to his idle Matt Hanson pairing up with Brad Kluss. From all reports it was a fun tourney and I enjoyed watching the live stream from Dylan Kimlin.
