A big weekend for the club. Both teams have a chance to take out their premierships.

A successful season for both teams.
The Mice won the minor premiership and after a close win against MKSCC in the semi final they secured their spot in the 3rd Grade grand final.

The Rats finished a close second with only 2 losses to Marulan and with the weather on their side over the weekend they’re able to redeem themselves this year after 2 long seasons not appearing in the Grand final.

40 over competition returns

Today the boys get back into their 40 over competition in both grades. With both teams sitting high on the ladders the club will look to make a run to finals and cap off what has been a strong season so far.

Mice sit 2nd just behind Marulan Madbulls and this week take on MSKCC who are always tough competitors.

Rats currently sit 1 win above the rest and take on Big Merino Titans and will want to win convincingly to show they are hunting that minor premiership.

After a successful t20 tournament the Goulburn Rats CC see 2 teams playing in Mondays Grand finals

Mice
The mice dominated the round games winning one and drawing another. Their final seen them play hibo Magenta and that was dominated by both Callum
Johnston and Daniel Hunt who led the boys to a spot in the MAD Automotive Bowl GF

Rats 2nds
Going 2 wins and 1 loss through the round games Rats 2nds finished first and faced Big Merino Titans. Anthony Rath lead with the bat with a great knock of 103 however that was upstaged by the run chase from Big Merino. Unlucky from the boys but also a great showcase from them.

Rats
In what was a tough and close CE Cup having all teams win one and lose one the Rats faced Marulan Swans in their semi final. Choc Whatmough who has, been outstanding for the club this tournament, led again with the bat and put together a great total. Miraj Hossain and Ankit Choudhary made sure Marulan Swans weren’t going to get close to the run chase and secured the clubs 2nd spot in the CE cup final.

Today sees the Goulburn Rats Cricket club play in 3 semi finals for a chance at a Grand Final spot in the t20 tournaments.

Strong round games from all 3 side with the Rats 2nds and Mice finishing 1st while the Rats finished 4th.

We field 3 very competitive sides today and are confident the boys can secure a spot in all 3 grand finals on Monday.

The Rats absolutely cruised to a big win on the weekend, smashing SJCC OG by 9 wickets at Trinity Wexted Oval.

Ben was unstoppable, tearing through the middle order with 5/15 off 8.
Isaac Walker backed it up beautifully with 3/30, grabbing early poles and a tidy caught-and-bowled.
Brent Poidevin cleaned up the tail with 2/8, finishing the innings at just 58.

The fielders were switched on too, with safe hands from Isaac, Daniel, and Andy

Chasing 58 was never going to be a drama.

Brent fell early for 5, but after that Brock Trounce and Matt Rath finished the job up fairly quickly

The Rats wrapped it up at 1/62, getting the job done in style and heading home early.

Round 8 Team lists

A double header against St. Joseph's Cricket Club Goulburn today with the Rats taking on the OGs at wexted and the Mice taking on the Blues.

With the Bowlo cup and plate up for grabs the club fields two strong sides and will look to retain the silverware.

Round 7 Team lists

Rats

This week the Rats take on an undefeated Marulan Madbulls. A win here will see them take the top of ladder. Isaac is in great form and will want to guide the boys to victory off his bat. Rats provide a strong bowling lineup in Miraj and Ankit leading from the front.

Mice

Mice take in MSKCC in what will be a tough matchup for them. After losing in their first meetup the Mice will want to turn this around. Some inform players, Jack Gray and Callum with the bat will want to score plenty while Nic, Ben hall, Matt ando and Robert all will want to take wickets.

This weekend the Goulburn Rats CC have the privilege of hosting CJ Memorial match between the Transplant Lucky Stars v Highlands.

Michael Campbell Jones was an original member of the Rats CC and was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at a young age and received a double lung transplasnt.

MCJ was loved around the club and his passing left a mark at the Rats. The club won their first premiership in his honour and have a yearly MCJ award.

We are grateful to be a part of this yearly tradition and are even more excited to be able to host it this year.

Game will take place at seiffert oval directly after our matchup with Marulan Madbulls this Saturday.

Come up and enjoy a night of cricket for a great cause.

The Rats make it 4 wins in a row

After winning the toss and electing to bat the boys got off to a flyer. Matt Rath was the first to fall for 19 and the Rats were 1/38. From there Isaac Walker and Jordan Gregory put on a 254 run partnership before Jordan fell just short of a ton and being caught out on 95. Isaac continued the runs and was ultimately dismissed for a large score of 194. A few single and double digit amounts from the batters got the boys to 5-410 after they 40 overs.

The bowling started quick Brodie Walker taking the first wicket. The Titans never got comfortable and consistent wickets fell with Andy Craig taking 3 for 27 off his 8 and Daniel Munroe taking 3 for 25 off his 8. Jack Galbraith was also amongst the wicket takers, taking 2/12 off 1.4 overs and finished off the Titans all out for 89.

A dominating win for the boys and gives the side a lot of confidence heading into a tough match up next week.

Mice back in the winners circle!

Bowling first, the boys set the tone early with Robert Hogg and Nic Coppolino picking up the early wickets. Matthew Anderson chimed in with a wicket. Hibo took back some momentum, but after an early drinks break, the boys wrestled back the momentum with Ben Hall picking up 2 and Callum Johnston finished the innings beautifully with 1/3 off just 1.3 overs. A real all-round team effort to keep them to 8/128.

The chase was clinical. A strong start at the top laid the platform with Ben Staples in his return match making a quick 29, before Jack Gray took control with a composed and patient 48*. A few of the boys fell cheaply but Callum Johnston stepped up again—his unbeaten 21* off 19 balls sealing the win.

Mice home at 4/129 and plenty to build on! 💪🐭
