Cairns Bluewater Billfish Tournament entries close Sunday.

We've got the Bluewater Game Fishing Club joining us Sunday for a Bait and Rigging Display.

Thats right. As they prepare for their annual comp , they've pencilled us in to come and meet the crew.

You'll learn how close you are to catching that fish of a lifetime. Chances are your boating right past them.

With a bit of guidance Sunday , who knows , you might just take out the Cairns Bluewater Billfish Tournament.
Who knows you might back it up at the Gordonvale Classic in 6 weeks.

Game on!

Our last weigh in before The 2026 Bobs Bulk Booze Gordonvale Classic , we welcome Cairns Bluewater Game Fishing Club for a bait and Rigging Demonstration for our members.

With the winds up , we close off the open water species. Our last Club only weigh in whilst Barramundi are in season , we open up Barramundi and Blue Salmon as our Bonus Point Fish of the month.

There have been some lovely blue salmon still getting caught , so we've added Blue Salmon too. Best of luck.

We thank BBQ Brothers Australia and Bryant's Family Butchery for our meat trays. We put their Major Fishboard Sponsorship straight back into the Butchery , Purchasing 15 Meat trays.

We Need Your Help. Please Share

Weigh in 7 we join forces with Cairns Bluewater Game Fishing Club and bring a Bait and Rigging Afternoon to the club.

Our aim , not only to teach our Juniors how to swim a bait but we want to give them the opportunity to take one home.

With The 2026 Bobs Bulk Booze Gordonvale Classic just around the corner the kids will get a chance to get some pointers and hopefully take home a classic winning bait.

Please share for us , hoping we find someone who can catch us a heap of mullet , or some Queenfish.

Who knows we might catch the eye of Chris Bolton Fishing and bring you the best looking Garfish on the planet.

🎣🤝 TWO CLUBS. ONE PASSION. WORKING TOGETHER. 🤝🎣

A massive thank you to the legends from Cairns Bluewater Game Fishing Club who are joining us Sunday 13th September for a Bait & Rigging Demonstration for our members.

And what makes this one pretty special is just how much these guys have going on themselves!

This week they’re involved in the Innisfail Rod Collins Memorial Challenge, and only a few days after visiting us they roll straight into their own 2026 Cairns Bluewater Billfish Tournament.

Yet somehow, right in the middle of two massive weeks of game fishing, they’ve still made the time to come down and share their knowledge with the Gordonvale Amateur Fishing Club. 👏👏
