🚨 DRINKS FRIDGE – THIS NEEDS TO STOP

Unfortunately, we are once again short money in the drinks fridge honesty box.

This is now the third time we have had to post about missing money.

I’m going to be blunt — this is theft.
Someone is taking drinks from the fridge and choosing not to pay for them.

The honesty box is there because we trust our members to do the right thing. We shouldn’t have to monitor people taking a $2–$3 drink, but repeatedly coming up short means the club is losing money and, quite frankly, it’s incredibly frustrating.

We are now going to have to look at changing the system.

One option we’re considering is locking the fridge, with members purchasing their drinks directly from the session organiser. We’d much rather keep the current system because it’s convenient for everyone, but unfortunately it only works when people are honest.

If you’ve taken drinks and haven’t paid for them, please fix it.

This is a community club. The money you’re taking isn’t going into someone’s pocket — it’s money that goes back into the club, our equipment and providing better facilities and sessions for everyone.

Please don’t make us lock the fridge.
We shouldn’t have to.

A dedicated session for players looking to challenge themselves, play stronger competition and continue developing their game.

🎯 Intermediate Pickleball

Courts 1-3+

The Intermediate group will have dedicated courts, with social play available on any unused courts throughout the session.

Well, well, well… look who’s gone and made himself a NATIONAL FINALIST! 😂🇦🇺

Our very own Buckles Peacey has trained, drilled, sweated, probably complained a little 🤣 and put in the work — and today he gets to step onto the court at the Australian Masters Cup National Finals!

Getting here is a bloody awesome achievement, Buck. 💪

I’ve made the trip to Sydney to cheer him on from the sidelines! No pressure, Buck… but I’ve travelled all this way, so you’d better give me something to yell about. 🤣📣

Time to have some fun, play your game and give ’em hell!

TONIGHT — INTERMEDIATE GRADING SESSION!

Tonight’s session is a little different!

All current members of our Intermediate group are welcome and encouraged to attend.

If you’re not currently in the Intermediate group but have been wondering where your game sits, if time permits, this is also a great opportunity to jump in, get some feedback and find out what you can work on to take your game to the next level.

The goal is to help players find the right level of competition — where you can challenge yourself, continue improving and play with others at a similar level.

A little disclaimer about grading…

A grading session is only a snapshot of the window available for you to perform in.

Your performance on the night may or may not reflect your normal floor or ceiling. We all have good days, bad days, nerves, fatigue and moments where everything just seems to click!

For players I already know well, you may not require formal grading — I’ve already got a pretty good idea of where your game sits.

So don’t stress about the label. 😎

The aim isn’t to judge you — it’s to help you find where you can play, compete and improve most effectively.

Our drinks fridge has been experiencing some wild financial fluctuations lately. 📈📉

Just a friendly reminder:

🥤 Soft drinks — $2
🍺 B**r — $3

💰 Money box is inside the fridge.

It’s an honesty system, and it works beautifully when everyone remembers the tiny but important step of actually paying for what they take.

We’re not accusing anyone…

Yet. 👀

The fridge has no CCTV, but it does have accounting records.

So please, if the drinks are flowing, get the money in the tin going.

High-level games, fast rallies and plenty of competition.
Social session 6-8pm on unused courts.

👑 Tuesday – GTPC Social Pickleball
6:00–8:00pm
Come down, have a hit and enjoy some social games.

🎯 Thursday – Intermediate Grading Session
6:00–8:00pm
This Thursday will be a grading session for our Intermediate group. A chance to assess where everyone is at and help get players into the right level of competition.

🏓 Saturday – Skills & Drills with Tam
8:00–11:00am
Rick is taking a little trip away, so Tam is flying solo this week!
