Terry Holman Memorial – Stage 2
Today we had 16 shooters front up for the second stage of the Terry Holman Memorial Trophy, shot at the 300m mound. It was a beautiful morning with sunny skies.
In the first range the flags weren’t doing much, but there was just enough there to push you out of the middle.
Peter Healy and Pud led the way, both shooting an impressive 60.8, followed by:
Gary – 60.7
Jamie – 60.7
Lowell – 60.4
TJ – 60.2
This gave them all possibles for the first range.
Al, Dave and Tom Toohey were unlucky, each just dropping one point.
The second range things got a little tougher as the wind picked up. It was mainly coming from the east, pushing across the range from left to right, with plenty of pickups and drop-offs making things quite difficult and hard to read.
Only two shooters managed to pick their way through the conditions, and Gary showed us how it’s done with his .223. Gary shot a great 66.7, giving him another possible and the only rooster for the day. Great shooting mate!
Alongside Gary was Cheryl Fairbanks, shooting an excellent 66.5. Awesome shooting Cheryl!
Lowell and Al were unlucky, each dropping one point.
Final Tally
The final tally saw Tom Toohey take out the second stage of the Terry Holman Memorial Trophy with a great score of 102.7 off the r***e, finishing on 111.7 handicap adjusted.
Great shooting mate!
Next weekend is our Goondiwindi Prize Shoot. We’re looking forward to seeing all the local shooters competing, along with all the visitors coming up for the shoot.
See you all next weekend!
