Today we had 11 shooters compete for the Club Trophy at 600m. The range was still plenty wet from recent rain, but fortunately dry enough for competition to go ahead.
The wind was coming from the west, pushing right to left across the range. While it wasn't overly strong, there was enough movement to catch shooters out on either side of the target.
The first range saw Pud, Gary and Don get off to an excellent start, posting 60.6, 60.6 and 60.4 respectively to record possibles for the opening range. Russell finished on 59.4, Dave 59.3 and Chris 49.4, each dropping just a single point.
By the second range the wind had picked up slightly, making conditions a little more challenging. Pud once again handled the conditions superbly, scoring 66.4 to earn himself a well-deserved rooster. Chris also shot strongly with 55.3, while Femy posted 55.7, with all three recording possibles for the range. Close behind were Russell on 65.9, John 65.7, Don 65.6, Gary 65.5 and Dave 65.4, all dropping just one point.
After the scores were tallied and handicaps applied, Russell came out on top with an excellent off rifle score of 124.13, which became 129.13 after handicap adjustment to take out the Club Trophy. Great shooting, mate.
Next weekend we host our Come and Try Day on Saturday and will be back at 700m on Sunday. We hope to see everyone there.
