The is a regional event that I’ve grown to love ( love / hate relationship really because you have to run a bloody long way). The strong sense of community is evident from the moment you collect your bibs at the pub to the moment you enjoy a cold drink at the finish line.
& his tribe of volunteers - bus drivers, data entry, marketing, social media, event coordinators, first aid, aid stations, cheerleaders & the list goes on - should come away from the event feeling immensely proud of what they have created.
It was a privilege to run 42.2km along that straight road guided by the photos & stories of the recipients. A bit of discomfort for 5hrs of my day/ month / year, is nothing compared to what these regional families are facing.
It’s been a great recovery week & I’m feeling strong! I’ll keep you up to date with my next adventure - one that I want you all right beside me 🩵
