Woogaroo Swimming Club

Woogaroo Swimming Club Woogaroo Swim Club Inc. is located within the Goodna Aquatic Centre, 137 Brisbane Terrace, Goodna QLD Our current President is Jeremy Bruce.

Woogaroo Swim Club held it's inaugural meeting on 22 April, 1974. Peter Scholes was elected as the Club's first President, a position he held for two years. The main driving force behind the formation of the club was Serge Ruggeri, a teacher at Goodna State School, where the club was originally located. The Club moved to the Goodna Aquatic Centre in 2005, where in 2011 it sustained significant dam

age in the January floods. Thanks to the government funding and the support of the local community and members we are well on our way to a full recovery.

Friday night at the Twin 4’s Meet was a blast! 🌧️🏊‍♀️

Despite the rain, our swimmers turned up ready to race, producing plenty of PBs, strong performances, and some fantastic efforts across the board.

It was also fantastic to see so many swimmers take on the 400m Freestyle or 400m IM for the first time and embrace the challenge. Shout out to Swimming Brisbane for putting these events on so young swimmers like ours can try something new in a fun, low pressure environment!

Well done to everyone who raced, and thank you to our families, officials, and coaches for braving the wet conditions and making it another great night of racing! 💙💛

Ruby wrapped up her Australian Trials campaign today in the 50m Butterfly, finishing with a swim right on her personal best time and an impressive 42nd place overall! 🦋

Congratulations, Ruby, on a fantastic meet. Competing at this level is an incredible achievement, and you represented our club with pride throughout the week. 💙💛

It has been a very exciting and rewarding three days for both Ruby and Coach Steve. The experience, memories and lessons gained from racing and coaching on the national stage will be invaluable moving forward.

On Sunday, a group of our swimmers made the trip to Toowoomba for the FAST SC Meet, and what a day it was! 💙💛

The team absolutely smashed it in the pool, with strong performances, plenty of personal bests and some fantastic racing across the meet.

A small group of swimmers took on the SC Meet on Saturday and while the weather was cold, the racing was red-hot! 🔥💙💛

It was fantastic to see our swimmers stepping up to race new events, challenge themselves and put their training into action. The team came away with plenty of personal bests and some great performances across the day.

One more sleep until racing begins! 🏊‍♀️

Today, the girls from Ipswich hit the pool for a final training session before competition gets underway.

Different clubs, same hometown support. This week, we’re proud to be cheering on Ruby and Angel as they chase their goals on the big stage. 🧡🩵💙💛

Months of early mornings, tough training sessions and unwavering determination have all led to this exciting opportunity, and we know you’ll both do yourselves proud.
