Friday night football returns to Kippen Park as Western Spirit host The Gap in an important FQPL4 clash. The visitors arrive still searching for their first win of the season and sit 11th on the ladder, coming off heavy defeats to Ripley Valley, Annerley, Narangba and New Farm. After conceding 45 goals in their last six outings and they'll be looking to stabilise defensively to turn that run around.

Spirit sits one place above The Gap and will be aiming to reignite their season after three straight defeats, two of those narrow losses coming against topโ€‘five opposition in Ripley (3-4) and Logan Metro (3-5). With games in hand on several teams above them, a win could be the spark that lifts Spirit back up the table over the coming weeks and restores momentum into the back end of the season.

The last meeting between the sides came in Round 4 at Walton Bridge Reserve, where Spirit burst out to a fourโ€‘goal halfโ€‘time lead and ultimately claimed a 5โ€“1 victory. Almin netted a brace on that night, with Luigi, Alex and Sina also getting on the scoresheet. Enjoy the highlights from that night now on Spirit TV at https://youtu.be/azr9fFSaars?si=zcKqKvI7QJCgQUaQ

With both teams hungry for a win, Friday night at Kippen Park is shaping as a lively contest.

In Under 23 action Spirit will be looking to repeat their 3-1 win at The Gap earlier in the season, knowing if they collect maximum points on Friday and win their games in hand, they are back in the hunt for finals football.

After rain earlier in the week the Cobras were thrilled to be able to play against western spirits u6 Wombats. The boys had a lot of fun and showed some great passing, tried to leave space between themselves and their teammates for room to move and played great defence. The wombats also showed good team work & defence and had a lot of fun as well.

๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›U8 Foxes Match Report๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’™

A home game saw the u8 Foxes vs u8 Catapults for the first time. The team managed to get the ball up towards goal a few times but Ipswich were quick to shut us down. We did some good defending of our own and managed to stop a few goals but it just wasn't our day. Congratulations to our player of the match who defended well, passed to his team mates, didn't stop running & helped get the ball away from our end.

๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’™U9 Unicorns Match Report๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›

Our Under 9 Unicorns took to our home field on Saturday to vs the U9 Park Ridge U9 Pearls

The Unicorns had their best game of the season today,

It was a low scoring game with the ๐Ÿฆ„ coming away with their first win of the season,

They all put in so much effort, and genuinely were having a great time.
Technically they showed great improvement and learning from our training drills with greater ball control, and more confidence in goal. While also spending more time in the opposing half of the field.

As their coach words can't say how proud i am of how the girls played and had fun today.

Our player of the game , showed some fantastic attacking and ball domination.

๐Ÿ Match Report โ€“ U7 Wasps ๐Ÿ

On Saturday 13th June, the Wasps took on Springfield United U7 Boas and what an incredible game it was!

The team played brilliantly from start to finish, with the game going in our favour. It was fantastic to see all the hard work from training shining through on the field. Each week this team improves immensely, showing better positioning, teamwork, confidence and understanding of the game
Congratulations to our Player of the Match! ๐ŸŒŸ He was absolutely on fire, showing sharp shooting and accuracy in front of goal, great passing and excellent positioning throughout the game. His effort and determination were outstanding and played a part of the team's success ๐Ÿ‘โšฝ

๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›U11 Blaze Match Report๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’™

The team enjoyed a close fought match this Saturday against Ipswich Knights with only a single goal separating the sides. Both teams had their opportunities and defended staunchly to keep the game tight. Mikaela and Jordan played well in goals, claiming the ball confidently when it came to them. Violette, Alannah, Chloe and Miley put on a strong defensive display, supported by hard running in midfield by Jiemba, Alyssa and Eliza ,and a couple of close shots by Evelyn. This weeks player of the match ran tirelessly and looked to support her team with some great crosses.

๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›U11 Hawks Match Report๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’™

What a thrilling match today, Hawks, against UQFC Lime. Even though the result didnโ€™t fall our way, the Hawks played with terrific heart, courage, and teamwork. One of the biggest highlights was the way the team lifted in the second half, fighting back from nil to score fantastic goals and creating plenty more attacking chances along the way.
Our Player of the Week is recognised for his tireless effort and commitment across the pitch, working hard to drive the ball forward; he stayed strong in his position and gave everything for the team all game long. Great job โ€”enjoy your Banjoโ€™s treat.
