We're hiring! 🚤

Bill's Boat Hire is looking for a young, fit, reliable, casual team member for weekends and the school holiday season, now through to the end of January 2027.

You'll be prepping and launching our boats, kayaks and stand up paddle boards. Fuelling up, cleaning, getting everything ready to go and looking after the gear when it comes back in.

You'll need:
A current boat licence
To be confident around boats and water
Weekend availability, with extra days during school holidays

Fun Fact!

The shorebirds are back on the Passage.

Eastern curlews and other migratory shorebirds have just flown in from as far as Siberia and Alaska, some covering thousands of kilometres, to spend the warmer months right here.

Look for them on the sandbars and mudflats at low tide, resting and feeding after that huge journey.
Out of everywhere they could land, they choose this stretch of water.

Fun Fact:
Soldier crabs come out in the hundreds at low tide on the sandbars and mudflats near Bill's, right at the northern end of the Passage. They're small, blue-grey, and they move together in these odd little sideways armies across the wet sand, sometimes disappearing in a blink if something spooks them. It's the kind of thing kids stop and stare at, and adults do too if they're honest. You can spot them easily from a kayak or paddle board gliding past the sandbars, or hop off the pontoon boat at low tide and get up close.
