Hi Everyone,

I have joined the GBSLSC and joined the committee to offer support in communicating with the the Golden Beach and Paradise Beach Communities. I am trying to keep abreast of the requests and I am aware of the issues being raised.

I joined the GBSLSC, because like many of us, we believe in the surf lifesaving movement and also believe in our community. I ask that as we re-build the club we come together to move forward; to build a club that is strong and resilient.

I am a ratepayer. I have a property in Paradise Beach. I am here on a regular basis.

I am supporting the interim committee and we will answer some of the questions raised in recent posts.

We would like to thank the people who supported us at the annual Easter Egg Hunt.

We are aware of the comments on the other community pages.

UPDATES

We are currently preparing documentation for the stage four of the affiliation process with Life Saving Victoria. We are required to develop a business plan and a strategic plan. Stage four will provide the club with the opportunity to begin operations as a provisional club.

As part of the development process for the business and strategic plans we will be surveying the local community. We will hold a a public general business meeting of the club in May (date to be advised).

VICTORIAN DROWNING REPORTS

A detailed summary of drowning incidents in Victoria is produced each year. These reports provide information and statistics about the people who drowned in Victorian waterways each year and the activities they were undertaking at the time.

LSV Drowning Reports include unintentional drowning incidents only. They do not include deaths due to natural causes, su***de, or homicide. Information for the reports has been collected from the State Coroner’s Office of Victoria and the National Coroner’s Information System (NCIS).

Hi, Golden Beach Surf Life Saving Club Member.

We are planning to email regular newsletters to our members, and this is our first one, now that the Covid restrictions have eased.

The process of affiliation with Life Saving Victoria is important so that we have their support for the many processes that a Life Saving Club needs to follow. Our small committee has been diligently working towards affiliation with LSV and we are confident in our endeavours towards manning Golden Beach over future summer months.

Memberships renewal:

Due to Covid, we suspended our annual membership fees and now they are due again. They may be increasing in price after we are affiliated so you are encouraged to renew your membership now. Please complete the attached membership form and pay the fee via our bank details on the bottom of the form. We really appreciate your membership!!!

AGM on Sunday 28 August 11am at the Clubrooms:

You are a valued member of Golden Beach Surf Life Saving Club, and as such please be advised that our Annual General Meeting for 2022 is on Sunday 28 August at 11 am at the Surf Clubrooms at 124 Shoreline Drive Golden Beach

As you know, the Surf Club is managed by a small but committed committee and we are always looking for more committee members to assist in the running of the Surf Club. Some of our committee members attend all meetings in person and some via a conference call. We have alternate monthly meetings on Tuesdays and Saturdays to cater for committee members who may holiday at Golden Beach on weekends.

The committee meeting dates for 2022 are as follows:

Tuesday August 21, 2022, 11am committee meeting

Sunday August 28, 2022, 11am AGM followed by a light lunch

Tuesday September 27, 2022, 11am committee meeting

Saturday October 29, 2022, 11am committee meeting and photo competition

Tuesday November 29, 2022, 11am committee meeting

Saturday December 10, 2022, 11am, followed by Christmas party.
