🥒 PickleGang Sunday Meet — The Pimpama Edition! 🤖💨

What an UNUSUAL Sunday Meet yesterday! We travelled way up north to Pimpama Sport Hub, and 11 brave Gangsters still made the journey! 😂🙌

🌟 Welcome to our new Gangsters!
A big welcome to Erika and Sonu, joining us for the first time! Both played really well, especially considering they’ve only played a few times before. 👏🔥 Looks like we have some naturally talented Gangsters here!

🏠 When PickleGang goes North, the Northsider comes out!
Great to have Tat joining us again! Although he doesn’t play very often, somehow he still managed to bring his A game! 😂💪 Maybe the pickleball skills are stored somewhere in the memory bank!

Great to have Vince’s girlfriend, Kira, back on court with us again! Our beautiful player all the way from Taiwan 🇹🇼 — always nice to have you back in the Gang! 🥰🏓

💨 BUT… there was a little drama!

The strong winds decided to become an extra player and BLEW OUR NET DOWN! 😂💨

But did PickleGang give up?

Of course NOT! 😎

Despite the wind, fallen net and all the other little obstacles, we kept playing. What a challenge, what a workout — and what a windy training session! 💨🔥

💙 THANK YOU, Six Zero Pickleball ! 💛
A big THANK YOU to Six Zero for supporting our local community sport team and sponsoring our PickleGang quick-dry team sport shirts! 👕🏓

Our little journey started last year September with just two badminton players — ET (aka Uncle) and Andrew — with zero pickleball knowledge but plenty of enthusiasm to learn a new racket sport! 😂

Since then, our PickleGang family has grown. It’s been awesome seeing players who started with almost no pickleball basics gradually improve from Level 1, Level 2 towards Level 3. 🙌
But PickleGang is not just about playing. We enjoy, laugh, learn and improve together, always with good vibes and a lot of fun. ❤️

A BIG THANK YOU as well to all our Sunday regulars who keep showing up week after week. 🙏 Your support, energy and commitment are what keep this little group going. Without you, PickleGang wouldn’t be where it is today!

Why Sunday Twilight Session Is One of Life’s Little Perfect Moments 🌇🏓

1. Chilling with old friends — pure relaxation 😎
No need to force conversation. Between rallies, you casually say, "Good shot,!", “That was close!” or somehow end up talking about everything except work. No phone notifications—just real laughs, face to face.

2. You always meet someone new 🤝
The court is a little friendship machine. Share a court, wait for rotation, and suddenly you’re chatting with a stranger. They might be your neighbour next door😆—or become the person you’re asking, “Same time next Sunday?”

3. Body moves, mind unwinds 💨
A week’s worth of stress gets sweated out. The dusk light is softer, the breeze feels better, and every rally feels like hitting the RESET button on your brain.

4. Beginner-friendly, zero pressure 🏓
Nobody needs to be a pro. We’re here to learn, improve and have fun. Miss the ball? Laugh. Hit the net? Laugh. Hit an amazing shot by accident? Pretend you planned it. 😂

5. Some days you’re the hero, some days… not so much 😂
Today you’re on fire. Next week, your partner is suddenly unstoppable. There’s no permanent 强弱—just “Good effort!!”, “Good setup!” and “Let’s try that again!”

And honestly, who has a higher DUPR or lower DUPR doesn’t really matter.
The rating is for the system for tournament organisers.
The fun is for you and your partners. ❤️

🌇 Sunday dusk, see you on the court!
No super fancy gear. No pro skills. No pressure.

Just move, laugh, rally, repeat. 🏓😄

Because sometimes, the little things are the perfect things.

周日黄昏去打球，就是那种刚刚好的小美满。不是因为赢了球，而是因为：

1. 跟老朋友瞎聊，最放松
不用刻意找话题，打完一球喘口气的间隙，随口说句“刚才那球好险”，或者干脆聊点工作外的闲事。没有手机消息轰炸，只有面对面的笑声。

2. 总能认识新朋友
球场很神奇——拼个场、等个轮换，就跟陌生人搭上话了。对方可能是隔壁的谁谁，也可能下周就约你再来。成年人交朋友不容易，但打球时特别简单。

3. 身体动了，精神反而松了
一周的疲惫，跑一跑、出点汗，反而比躺着更解压。黄昏的光不刺眼，风吹过来，整个人像被按了“重启键”。

4. 新手友好，不怕拖后腿
这项运动本来就新，大家都没多厉害。不用非得“高手配高手”，水平差不多反而玩得更尽兴。互相学习怎么接球、怎么发力，失误了笑一笑就过去了。

5. 没有谁永远强，谁永远弱
今天你手感好，明天他发挥稳。没有绝对强弱，只有“这次配合不错”和“下次再试试”。输赢不重要，重要的是“我接到了！”“好球！”那种即时的小快乐。

谁的DUPR高谁的低，根本不重要。 分数是给主办比赛项目公司系统看的，开心是给自己和伙伴的。

Attention pickleball players… there is a new species spotted on the court. 😂

Meet the DUPR Crocodile (sandbaggers)— very dangerous to fair competition! 🐊

Their special skill?
🎭 Play badly on purpose during DUPR Social games.
📉 Carefully drop their DUPR rating.
🎯 Enter a lower-level tournament.
🏆 Suddenly… BOOM! Champion! 😂

Yesterday: “Sorry ah, I’m not very good…” 🥺
Today: 🥇 CHAMPION!

Bro… your DUPR dropped, but your skills didn't! 🤣🤣

This isn't “playing smart”.
It's sandbagging — and it ruins the fun for players who genuinely belong at that level.

🏓 Play your real level.
📊 Own your rating.
💪 Improve honestly.
🏆 Win because you earned it.

Because a real champion doesn't need to hide their level to collect a trophy and prize money. 😉

No regular Sunday session at Runaway Bay last week... but no worries, our Pickleball addiction still got its weekly fix! 😂🏓

A huge thank you to Andrew & Jane for organising a special session at Griffith University. We couldn't let one Sunday go by without hearing that sweet "pop pop" sound!

Special thanks to Nina, Mia, Nate and Jessie for arriving early to set up all the nets. We all discovered that setting up pickleball nets is actually another sport on its own—tricky, challenging, and definitely a team effort! 😆

Welcome back, Leanna! She came to support her good mate Jane and also got to meet her new Korean friend Jessie! It's always great to see new friendships forming through pickleball! ❤️

A warm welcome to first-timer Patrick. He played so well that we almost didn't believe he was new! Maybe JJ gave him some secret coaching before he showed up. 🤔😂

And thank you to all our regular Gangsters with Paddles for another fantastic Sunday.

As always, PickleGang doesn't fight over skills—we compete over who laughs the loudest. ❤️🏓
