Sun on your back, sand between your toes, zinc on your nose… ☀️🏖️
That’s Queensland.

Doing it best? That’s SLSQ Point Danger Branch 😉

Oldest in the state, 11 clubs strong, and still setting the pace.

While we’re enjoying the lifestyle, we’re also making sure our beaches — and our community — stay safe. Just part of being #1 ❤️💛

What could be more Queensland than that?

APPLICATIONS FOR THE SLSA WOMEN'S MENTORING PROGRAM - COHORT 8 ARE OPEN NOW

The SLSA Women’s Mentoring Program (the Program) empowers women across Surf Life Saving (SLS) to grow in confidence, strengthen leadership capability, expand networks, and support one another to thrive within the movement.
Whether participants are stepping into leadership for the first time or looking to further develop their influence and impact, the Program provides a supportive environment to learn, connect, and grow alongside like-minded women from across Australia.

The Program supports women in both their volunteer and professional roles, while contributing to SLSA’s 2030 Strategic Priorities by building a stronger and more gender diverse leadership pipeline that better reflects both our nation (51% women) and our movement (45% women).

Launched on 1 July 2020 as part of the 40‑year celebration of women in SLS, the Program has now supported more than 250 mentors and mentees from across Australia - and PDB are proud to have had great representation in each cohort.

What is the Youth Excellence Program (YEP) all about?
The Youth Excellence Program is designed for members aged 15 – 17 years and plays an important role within Surf Life Saving Queensland’s development charter.

The Youth Excellence Program provides an opportunity for youth members to be exposed to the many different elements of Surf Life Saving. Youth Development is about providing our young people with positive experiences and opportunities which enhance their strengths and capacity as well as affirming them as contributors to our community and shapers of their own future.

It is designed to provide youth with knowledge, experience and allow them to develop skills in a wide range of activities in an enjoyable and stimulating environment. The program is structured to develop maximum participation, confidence and leadership in all participants. It also aims to familiarize participants with more formal roles within Surf Life Saving and highlight potential future pathways.

Who Can Apply?
Participants are eligible to apply if they meet the following criteria:
• Be minimum of 15 years of age and a maximum of 17 years of age at the time of the program;
• Be a financial member of an SLSQ affiliated Surf Life Saving Club;
• Have demonstrated an eagerness to develop a wide range of skills in Surf Life Saving;
• Must be able to attend the full program (2.5 days from 19th to 21st September 2026)
