Pure self trust. It’s not just one fight camp. It’s been 40. It’s being willing to give it my all, to fail, to get back up, to learn and NEVER stop. There was not a single moment in that fight that I didn’t know what to do next.
At Strikeforce, everything is covered. We face all the possible obstacles that could arrive and be ready for when opportunities happen, to take them without hesitation. That’s exactly what I did, moment by moment.
Not only have I finally achieved my goal of being a World Champion, my 3rd attempt but I feel like, for the first time, I can truly FEEL the magnitude of this achievement.
I am truly grateful that Nakia has shown so much support behind my move to the Gold Coast and given me 2 of the biggest challenges this year for me to elevate to. I want to give her that recognition because without the promotors willing to take risks, to play their part and make the fights that deserve to happen take place, I wouldn’t have the chance to keep growing.
Somratsamsee is the biggest name, toughest opponent that I could have faced, what a dream fight to win.
A huge thank you to my past, present and ever expanding team of coaches, training partners, teammates, supporters, sponsors and fans who have fostered my development. I want to acknowledge every chapter and person that has played their role to getting me here. My success is also yours, because without you I wouldn’t be so confident in this pursuit of excellence and becoming my best.
