Don’t buy the equipment first.
Most new gym owners start with the gear they can picture. The rig, the dumbbells, the branded mats. Then they try to squeeze it into the room they’ve already leased.
The result is always the same. Racks too close to pass. Cardio blocking the only good light. A pricey machine sitting in a corner nobody touches.
Plan the floor first. Map where people move, where they queue at peak, how many you can hold per zone before it feels packed. Then buy to fit it.
We’ve done this across 16,000+ commercial fitouts. The floor plan is what makes or breaks the room, and it’s the bit everyone rushes.
