🌿Rooted in Nervous System Education
Gold Coast, Brisbane, Online

Darci specialises in technical alignment and verbal adjustments. Her teaching style is accessible to the total beginner and will deepen the more experienced yogi's practice. You will learn how to rhythmically explore the layers of your body, so you are able to consciously dissolve tension and feel into the origin of your discomfort. Darci has a unique way in delivering the philosophy of yoga that is interesting, practical, simple and accessible. These teachings are for everybody, and are conveyed in a way that meets you exactly where you are at. You will be inspired to continue your yoga practice, long after you roll your mat up and put it away.

If you’re a yoga teacher struggling to build regulars, this might be worth leaning into.

I want to tell you that’s it’s rarely about your sequencing.

It’s more often about whether people feel truly met when they walk into your class.

Whether there’s structure and space.

Whether you’re reading the room, and working with what emerges, rather than sticking to a plan.

This is what our next training is about - relational awareness, the nervous system, and what trauma-informed teaching actually means (hint: it’s not just offering endless choice).

The course is practical - grounded in yoga philosophy and nervous system research - two different worlds landing on surprisingly similar conclusions.

You don’t need fixing to teach well. You already have what it takes - this training will simply sharpen it.

Such an honour to walk beside each human that enters into our training world ❤️

On the weekend, we had our final closing ceremony for our 2026 200hr trainings.

What I love about the online program is that despite being virtual, the sense of community is still so strong.

Creating safe, trauma informed, nervous system aware and deeply relational teachers is something we are so passionate about at AustraliaYogaTeacherTraining.

Early bird options across our online, Brisbane and Gold Coast trainings are open! If you join our in person trainings, you get full access to our online training, meaning you can start whenever you are ready. Especially if you are someone that likes to take your time and immerse and prepare before we come together.

If this feels like the right time for you, we’d love to have you with us 😀

Yoga is not just about your relationship with yourself.

We often talk about yoga as a practice of coming home to ourselves.

Feeling our breath.

Listening to our bodies.

Stepping back from our thoughts.

Becoming more aware of what is happening within.

And yes, this is an important part of practice.

But we don't exist in isolation.

We are constantly in relationship

with our teacher,

the people around us,

our family,

our partners,

our students,

our environment.

And these relationships affect how we feel, how we move, how we breathe and even what we are able to notice.

Think about how your body feels when you're practising alone compared to when you're in a room full of people.

Or what happens when someone invites you to move in a way that feels unfamiliar.

Do you tense?

Do you perform?

Do you withdraw?

Do you accommodate?

Do you become more curious?

This is yoga too.

From a Gestalt perspective, we're interested not only in ‘what is happening inside me’, but what is happening between me and the world around me. Yoga asks us to get curious in a similar way.

Yoga becomes an opportunity to notice how we make contact.

How we connect.

How we separate.

How we respond to influence.

How we protect ourselves.

How we receive support.

How we take up space.

And perhaps most importantly:

Can I stay connected to myself while being in relationship with other?

Not just “How do I feel in my body?”

But:

“How do I meet the world from my body?”

And “What happens to me when I meet another?”

Yoga is a relational practice.

As teachers we are in relationship with our students.

Our role as a teacher starts way before we give our first cue in our sequence.

What if understanding your mind could shift and support the way you move through your life?

This Friday, we’re exploring a fascinating map of the mind and the ways we can get caught in our own thoughts, stories and perceptions.

Come explore how the ancient wisdom from Patanjalis Yoga Sutras can help us become more conscious about where we place our attention and energy - rather than being swept up by the contents of our mind.

Philosophy Circle | This Friday 10-11:30am

Come curious. No philosophy background needed. 🤍

Meet Carol Merry ❤️

The lead facilitator for our 2027 Gold Coast 200hr Yoga Teacher Training.

Friendly, grounded, professional, humble - and a deep commitment to both the practice and the people she serves.

What stands out most is the trust Carol has cultivated within her community reflecting not only her skill as a teacher but her ability to create meaningful and authentic connections with students. We all know that teaching yoga is a relational practice! It requires deep, deep listening.

When I first heard of Carol it was through the words from our shared students at Yoga for Living ❤️‍🔥. My ears pricked up so I intentionally sat next to her at a staff Christmas lunch.

Then I attended her classes.

All with this idea that I had potentially found the lead trainer of our GC YTT.

I wasn’t attached but I was certainly curious. It’s not a decision I make lightly! I’m excited to now officially pull Carol into our AustraliaYogaTeacherTraining team ❤️

Carol teaches with a depth of understanding that extends beyond the delivery of asanas.

She creates spaces that are inclusive, thoughtful and accessible, meeting students where they are while encouraging meaningful growth.

Carols approach reflects a maturity and steadiness that can only be developed through years of dedicated practice, study and teaching experience.

Early bird registrations are open 🙏

LIVING YOGA 🌿

Yoga - it’s how we move through our relationships.

How we respond when things don’t go our way.

How we meet uncertainty, conflict, change, discomfort - and each other.

But how often do we actually get to talk about that type of yoga?

Living Yoga is a monthly community circle where we come together to explore our yoga practice off the mat.

No need to have all the answers.

No need to be “good” at yoga or philosophy.

No need to share anything you don’t want to.

We’ll use the wisdom of Patanjali’s Sutras as a starting point.

The sutras will be laid out face down, and you’ll intuitively choose one.

Then we’ll explore what comes up for you through the lens of that particular teaching.

And somehow, it’s often uncanny how relevant the sutra becomes.

We’ll hear stories.

Share stories.

Reflect together.

A chance to get beneath the small talk.

To be seen, heard and felt.

To explore how yoga is actually showing up in our lives — in our homes, our relationships, our work, our struggles and our everyday moments.

Living Yoga.

A community circle for the things we’re all navigating, but don’t always get the chance to talk about.

This Friday, we explore a foundational layer of yoga philosophy - not as rules to follow perfectly, or as a way to fix ourselves, but as an invitation to notice.

How do we create harmony?

Where do we create disconnection?

How do we speak, listen, hold on and let go?

We are not broken.

We are human.

Made up of countless patterns.

Patterns that supported us.

To help us stay safe and to belong.

But some patterns become outdated.

Then what?

The first step is in the simple, gentle practice of awareness.

Then the radical practice of acceptance.

After all, we are simply human ❤️

With acceptance, change naturally occurs.

The practice of yoga doesn’t end when we step off the mat.

That’s when the deeper practice begins.

Friday 10-12 AEST

Online via Zoom.

Teaching yoga can sometimes feel isolating. There is often a gap between when we finish our teacher training and move forward our new career as a teacher!

These circles are a way to fill that gap.

They are supportive, empowering and casual.

And you are welcome to join us at any stage of your teaching ❤️
