Why so many people don’t get the results they want!!
- unrealistic goals- it’s great to have a big end goal, but usually the big goals take a lot of time leading to lack of motivation!!! Set small attainable goals to keep you motivated- still keeping ur mind on that big end goal!
-Lack of consistency!!! If u want the results you need to be consistent with ur food, training and rest!!! People tend to start out like a bull at a gate and can’t maintain that. Just start with 2 sessions a week and build on that over time!!!
-insufficient support. It’s important to have a support network around u, sometimes a training buddy or trainer is a great way to keep u accountable!!! Even athletes have coaches!!!
-boredom. Something you tend to see a lot as a trainer, is people doing the exact same program for years, same weights, same reps, wondering why they are not getting results!!! Change things up, if ur weights, reps, time under tension or sets are not changing- neither are u!
-trying to Out train a crap diet!!! If you think you’re going to get ripped eating crap food - think again! The harder you train the better your nutrition has to be to support the body training hard. The body needs nutrients to be efficient!!! You can’t out train a crap diet! Food is a good 70% of ur results!
-inadequate Education. This is where having a trainer comes into play!!! A Good trainer can eradicate the trial and error you may have to go through if u don’t know what to do!!! Also imbalances of the body also can be avoided!! Pick your trainer carefully!!!
-Time poor- make sure you have a plan for your lack of time! That may mean meal prep on your days off, it may mean waking earlier and training before a long day, it may even mean more incidental exercise or less cals than you have been eating. The commitment must be there if u want to be successful!
-measuring progress. This is important to keep your enthusiasm alive!!! The small wins is what keeps driving the motivation!!! I suggest a training diary- for your weights, how u feel, your food so you can track what you’re doing.
- Bloodwork. It’s always imperative to check ur bloods before you start a training regime and every 3-6 months, to make sure your hormones are functioning as you may need to get things tweaked if you have lived an unhealthy lifestyle for years. (Food creates ur hormones remember) For women it’s imperitive that iron is also tested regularly- especially if you have had low iron in the past. This will determine your energy, immune system and also motivation.. a lot of women quit because of this. Your iron needs to sit at at least 20/33 (to train) and ferritin at least 100 (iron storage). Remember your blood is what delivers the nutrients around the body along with oxygen, so if your iron is low your body can’t be efficient, It’s as simple as that! (Tablets are crap and don’t work) go for injections or infusions!!!
- motivation. If you think everyday your going to wake up motivated think again! It’s the days that you don’t feel motivated that you need to push through. Training is a habit, sometimes you don’t feel like it, but you know that consistency is key!!! The only exception is illness! If you’re sick, stay at home and rest, the body requires rest to heal!
