🚫 Parents, this one’s for you: Let your child OWN their sports journey.

Everyone wants the best for their kids. That’s natural.
But in sports, you can’t guide every step—and that’s exactly the point.

The court is a place where young players learn to:
🏀 Make their own decisions
🏀 Listen to the coach
🏀 Collaborate with teammates
🏀 Take responsibility
🏀 Grow through success and mistakes

Training sessions are a learning environment, not a viewing gallery.

Your presence—although well-intentioned—can add pressure, distraction, or confusion.
Cheer loudly at games.

Support unconditionally at home.

But let practice belong to the players and the coach.

If you want your child to develop confidence, resilience, discipline, and leadership…

👉 Give them space to grow.
Let them train.
Let them learn.
Let them play.

That’s how real development happens.

IMPORTANT SUMMER TRIALS

Due to overwhelming player numbers we need to change some of the trials days/times -

ALL Player must be registered to trial!

U18 BOYS - MONDAY 10TH AUGUST

U10 /GIRLS - WEDNESDAY 12TH AUGUST

U12 BOYS - WEDNESDAY 12TH AUGUST

JNR GIRLS - MONDAY 17TH AUGUST

All other age groups are unchanged!

Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

📣 Basketball Connect Ladder

Parents and players, please be aware that if your division has had team changes, the ladder currently displayed in Basketball Connect WILL most likely NOT be accurate.

This is a Basketball Connect issue and is outside the club’s control.

Gold Coast Basketball will provide the club with a manually updated ladder. Once received, we will post it on the Leadership Page for team managers to pass on as soon as possible.

Until the updated ladder is published, please do not rely on the Basketball Connect ladder as confirmation of your position.
