A busy day awaits for the G1G team with runners spread across Kembla Grange, Royal Randwick, Flemington and Ipswich. We have a mix of progressive horses, proven performers and two exciting runners contesting Listed company.

Kembla Grange
Race 5 – State Secret & Babyfaced Assassin

State Secret has been racing consistently and gets her opportunity to finish strongly if the tempo is genuine. Despite drawing wide, she has the ability to be charging home late.

Babyfaced Assassin faces a challenge from barrier 16 but has shown toughness throughout his campaign. If he can find cover early, expect him to be competitive when the pressure goes on.

Royal Randwick
Race 4 – Pimlico

Pimlico continues to improve with racing and looks capable of measuring up in this company. Tommy Berry takes the ride and should be able to settle him into a comfortable position from barrier 9.

🌟 Race 9 Listed – Point And Shoot

One of the headline runners for the weekend. Kerrin McEvoy takes the mount and with only 54kg, Point And Shoot gets a favourable weight advantage. The wide draw will require some luck, but his finishing burst makes him a genuine black-type chance.

Flemington
Race 4 – Ulfberht

A progressive galloper who should appreciate Flemington’s spacious layout and long straight. Jye McNeil is a strong booking and this looks another valuable step in his development.

🔥 Race 9 – Maldini

One of our leading hopes of the day. Luke Nolen knows Flemington as well as anyone and barrier 10 gives him options. Maldini has continued to improve this preparation and looks capable of finishing the day strongly.

Ipswich
Race 6 – Lockyer

Ben Thompson takes the ride and local conditions should suit. If he gets the right run in transit, he can be right in the finish.

🌟 Race 8 Listed – Bosustow

A quality c**t with a pedigree to match his ability. Drawn barrier 6 with Robbie Dolan aboard, Bosustow should enjoy every chance. He looks well placed to add valuable black-type success to his record.

🏇 G1G Colts & Breeding – Eagle Farm Saturday Preview 🏇

A huge day awaits at Eagle Farm tomorrow with three runners on the card, including two Listed races and a Group 1 feature.

🔥 Race 2 – Listed
Marffiano (Home Affairs x Miss Iano)

A promising c**t from the first crop of champion sprinter Home Affairs. Marffiano has already demonstrated stakes-quality ability and continues to build an impressive résumé. With a pedigree full of speed and class, he looks another exciting prospect from a family that knows how to perform on the big stage.

🔥 Race 5 – Listed
Moravia

A tough and consistent gelding who continues to race with great determination. Jamie Melham takes the ride and despite the wide draw, Moravia has shown he can be competitive against quality opposition. Tomorrow’s Listed contest presents another opportunity to add to an already commendable record.

⭐ Race 7 – Group 1
Berzelius

The headline act of the day. Group 1 racing is the ultimate test, and Berzelius gets his opportunity at the elite level. Drawn perfectly in Barrier 5 with Tommy Berry aboard, he looks set to get every chance. A Group 1 victory would be a tremendous achievement for all involved.

Black type is the lifeblood of thoroughbred breeding, and tomorrow our runners will be chasing valuable Listed and Group 1 success on one of Queensland’s biggest race days.

NEWS: Newgate Farm proprietor Henry Field celebrated his first Derby success when emerging Easter c**t Providence (Wootton Bassett) scored a decisive victory in today’s G1 Queensland Derby at Eagle Farm.

A maiden heading into this preparation, the Chris Waller-trained Providence has come of age over the past few months.

He put the writing on the wall with an eye-catching 3rd in the traditional Derby lead-up - the G3 Rough Habit Plate – a fortnight ago and never looked like losing today, thanks to a perfect ride by James McDonald.

Bred by Jonathan Munz’s GSA Bloodstock, Providence was offered through the Bhima Thoroughbreds draft at the 2024 Easter Yearling Sale, where he was purchased by the China Horse Club, Newgate Farm, Go Bloodstock and Trilogy Racing partnership for $625,000.

Zac Wadick takes the ride from Barrier 2. Drawn to get a lovely run and every chance to be competitive.

Saturday is another big day for the G1G Colts team with runners stepping out at both Randwick and Doomben 🔥🐎

At Randwick, The Three Hundred lines up in Race 8 with Adam Hyeronimus aboard from Barrier 5. Nicely drawn and ready to give a strong account in a competitive field.

Up north at Doomben, Bosustow takes his place in the Group 3 feature in Race 9. Ryan Maloney rides from Barrier 12 carrying 59kg. Tough assignment but this c**t has shown plenty of class and will be charging home late.

Two exciting runners, two major tracks, and another opportunity for the G1G colours ✨
