All of these wagons have something unusual about them, and something in common (besides being 4 wheelers): they're private owner wagons, which means they were not owned by a railway company, and instead are owned by whatever company is mentioned on their sides - often a coal merchant.
This practice of each company having its own wagons for carrying that company's goods dates back to the days of canals apparently, as the video in the link below explains.
Yes, they are all empties, but coincidentally they are all being returned to their respective owners for refilling.
