Biography of our Instructor Milos Hosala:
Milos Hosala was born in 1975 and was raised in Slovakia, Europe. His initiation in martial arts began from a young age (Milos was 14 years old) by his Judo coach and mentor. Milos’ first coach was a charismatic Judoka and a Colonel working as a Military Surgeon, who founded a Judo Club in Milos’ hometown, and instilled in Milos the martial arts spirit and inspired him in pursuing a military career.
Milos stayed under his coach’s tuition until he was 18 years old, a time in which he moved to study in the University of Armed Forces in Slovakia, where he completed his master’s degree in science. During his professional career Milos worked as a Close Combat Instructor in an Airforce Base and later as a Head Instructor of Army Judo Club in the United Nation Training Base in Nitra, Slovakia.
In June 2004 Milos relocated to Australia, where he continued coaching Judo and also had the chance to visit Japan and study Judo in Kodokan Judo Institute in Tokyo.
During his studies in Australia, Milos worked part-time as a club bouncer and later worked as an Operation Manager of bodyguards for a Mayor of Lockyer Valley, Toowoomba.
Milos’ first introduction to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu was in 2005, when he started training under Daniel Lima. Milos was awarded a black belt in 2022 by his coach Pedro Rodrigues. During this time Milos entered several IBJJF (International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation) competitions. His main achievements are:
- Queensland State Champion – 1st place in 3 different years
- IBJJF Pan Pacific Championship – 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in different years
- IBJJF World Master Championship participant
Milos currently holds a Black Belt in BJJ and a rank of 3rd Dan in Judo.
