Be authentic.
This is an essential quality leaders must develop to take their leadership game to another level.
How?
Be your own person.

Being your own person can be challenging, especially when it feels like there is pressure coming from so many different areas.
Pressure to perform.
Pressure to succeed.
Pressure to conform.

Being authentic means developing your own leadership style. One that is consistent with your personality, your character, and your values.

Highly impactful leaders are not successful merely because of their leadership style, but rather due to their authenticity.
Being aligned with who they are, and not a product of others’ expectations.
Through their ability to lead with purpose and meaning.
Their ability to lead with head 𝑎𝑛𝑑 heart.

Being authentic means being the most you can be.
Living up to your full potential.
Stepping into your natural abilities and strengths, to fully develop and harness them.
Whilst also being aware of shortcomings and doing the work to overcome them.
The best leaders are dedicated to developing themselves, knowing that becoming truly great takes a lifetime of personal growth.

There are many tools available to identify our strengths and weaknesses (I cringe whenever I see that word). I personally find the Meta Dynamics profile super powerful in providing insights into accessing our potential.

As a leader, when we step into being more authentic, we inspire those around us to embrace more of their authenticity.

Your team may not be disengaged, they just aren’t involved!

One of the best ways to re-engage your team is to involve them…
⭐️ in a project
⭐️ in a decision
⭐️ in a meeting
⭐️ in trying something new

Employees support what they create.
They are much more likely to be more productive and more creative when they are involved in the process. They will go the extra mile and come up with solutions to increase the likelihood of success.

As the leader, you can support them by ensuring there are opportunities to get involved; and the space to make mistakes and to learn. And celebrate their successes!

Don’t be an armchair leader
Walk your Talk
Get out there and lead though your words and your actions

We all know one of those leaders who rules from their office chair.
Barking orders and telling the team what to do.
This style of “leadership” fails to motivate and empower the team.
And frankly, it’s so last century!
