📢 Gold Coast Show Day Timetable

This Friday, 28 August, our usual classes will be replaced with open mats:

🥋 9:00am–9:30am — Winners 1
🥋 9:45am–10:15am — Winners 2 + 3
🥋 10:15am–11:15am — Ages 14 through to adults

Open mats are relaxed sessions where members can practise, drill and spar together—there is no formal class structure.

Please note: There will be no group classes on Saturday morning.

Enjoy the public holiday, and we’ll see you on the mats! 😊

A massive congratulations to Nadir and Andy Penny on earning their blue belts.🥋👊🏾

Between work, family and everything else life throws at us, they kept showing up, putting in the rounds and improving. Reaching blue belt is a big achievement, and both of you should be very proud. Well earned, guys! 🔵🔵

Always ready to compete and never worried about who she trains with—she just gets on the mats and gives it a go.

🏆 QUEENSLAND STATE CHAMPIONSHIP 2026 ❤️🖤

What an amazing weekend, we are stocked with the results, but this weekend wasn't just about medals.

It was about the child who competed for the very first time.

The student who once cried before stepping onto the mat and now walks on with confidence.

The athlete who had just earned a new belt and embraced the challenge.

The adult student who, after only three months of training, had the courage to compete.

The people who balance work, family life and still show up for training.

The parents, families and supporters who spent the weekend cheering from the sidelines.

And the coaches who believe in every student, every step of the way.

As a small, family-run academy, these moments mean everything to us. They remind us that success isn't only measured by medals—it's measured by courage, growth and the community we build together.

Congratulations to everyone who represented Careca Jiu Jitsu Australia at the Queensland State Championship.

What a night for Careca Jiu Jitsu Australia! 🔥

Last night, our No-Gi coach .aus stepped onto the FFC Main Card and represented our team with incredible heart, skill and determination.

His performance was outstanding even when the outcome was not what he was expecting, but it takes courage to step onto a stage like that, and Shaun showed exactly what our team is about. We couldn't be prouder!

Thanks Shaun for representing the team so well🙌🏽 and a huge thank you to for bringing such an amazing event to the Gold Coast and for giving Shaun the opportunity to showcase his skills on the Main Card.

Events like these continue to grow our sport, and we're grateful to have been part of it.

To everyone who supported Shaun throughout his preparation and on fight night—our coaches, teammates, members, families and friends—thank you. Your encouragement and belief mean more than you know!

Every athlete who steps onto a stage like this carries the entire CJJA family with them.

We're proud of how far we've come, excited for what's ahead, and ready for the next opportunity.

Last Sunday, our team stepped onto the mats once again at the South Pacific Championship, and we couldn't be prouder.

Competition is never just about medals. It takes courage to sign up, discipline to prepare, and character to step onto the mats and test yourself. Every single athlete who represented CJJA showed exactly that. 🥋

🏆 Our results:
• Kids & Juveniles (8 competitors): 6 Gold 🥇 | 3 Silver 🥈 | 1 Bronze 🥉
• Adults (2 Competitors): 1 Gold 🥇 | 3 Silver 🥈

These medals are a reflection of the hard work happening on our mats every single week.

A huge thank you to our athletes for trusting the process, to our incredible coaches for their dedication, to every training partner who helps make each other better, and to all the families who continue to trust and support our work. We truly couldn't do this without you.

The team keeps growing 🚀The standard keeps rising. And we're already preparing for the next challenge.💪🏽🥋

Not every athlete is willing to test themselves at the highest level.

Last Sunday, .aus and .narasimhan stepped onto the Trials mats for the very first time—a milestone that reflects months of hard work, discipline, and commitment.

Win, lose, or draw, it takes courage to stand on that stage, and we couldn't be prouder of the way they represented Careca Jiu Jitsu.

A huge thank you to our coach , teammates, training partners, and everyone who helped make this journey possible.

The journey doesn't end here—it's only just beginning. 🥋🤍

ADCC Open 2026 🥋🤍
A memorable day for our team at one of the biggest submission grappling events in Australia.

Congratulations to , .rodbjj , Max and Bridie for stepping onto the mats and representing Careca Jiu Jitsu with courage, sportsmanship and heart.

🥇 – 1st Place

An outstanding performance from João, securing two submissions on his way to the final and finishing the day on top of the podium.

The final was incredibly close and hard fought, but João stayed composed and showed the determination we've come to expect from him.
Well deserved, champion. 👏

🥈 .rodbjj – 2nd Place

Pedro opened the day with a submission victory before advancing to a tough final.

After a great match, he finished with a silver medal and another valuable experience at a high-level event.

A fantastic effort and plenty to build on moving forward. 👏

🥉 – 3rd Place
Max faced a very tough division and some challenging opponents throughout the day.

He showed resilience, kept pushing forward and earned a well-deserved place on the podium.

A great display of grit and determination

Bridie was the only girl on the bracket and stepped into a challenging bracket of four competitors.

She showed tremendous courage, embraced the challenge and gained valuable experience against tough opposition.

We're incredibly proud of her willingness to step up and test herself. 👏🤍

From day one to brown belt — what a journey. 🟤

Huge congratulations to .aus on earning his Brown Belt yesterday. One of very first students, Shaun has been a constant example of what dedication really looks like — showing up, putting in the work, studying the art, and pushing himself every step of the way.

His passion for No-Gi has always stood out, and we’re incredibly proud to now have him leading the way as our No-Gi coach.

Thank you, Shaun, for trusting us to be part of your journey. This video captures just a glimpse… we know there’s so much more ahead.
