A few snaps from a fantastic day at the club as we celebrated our annual Past Players Day.

It was great to see such a strong turnout, with plenty of familiar faces back at Margaret Bond Oval supporting the club. The support certainly helped, with fantastic results across all sides in our final home round of the season. And in true amateur style, the over 35s even managed to take the field in their clash strip 😂

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the day such a success. Special thanks to Talla and Steve, and the committee members who rolled up their sleeves throughout the day to keep everything running smoothly.

In conjunction with PPD, we proudly supported the Ronald McDonald House South & Central Australia. Thanks to the generosity of our community, valuable funds were raised to help support families. Donations are still open, so if you’d like to contribute to this fantastic cause, there’s still time to do so.

Finally, for any past players looking to reconnect with the club, the Silver Wolves continue to grow and welcome new members. If you’re interested in getting involved, we’d love to hear from you.

Today, in conjunction with Past Players Day, we’ll be fundraising for Ronald McDonald House South & Central Australia

Ronald McDonald House South & Central Australia provides families travelling to Adelaide with a place to stay, warm meals and support while their sick or injured child receives care.

There are a few ways you can get involved:

⚽️⚽️⚽️ PLAYER MILESTONE ⚽️⚽️⚽️

Please join us in congratulating James “Kitch” Kitching, who this Saturday pulls on the OISC shirt for the 200th time.

Since joining the club in 2006, James has been a fixture both on and off the field. He made an immediate impact, winning the D Grade Best & Fairest in his first season, before progressing through the ranks and playing a key role in our 2010 A Grade Division 2 Championship winning side.

His contribution extends far beyond match day. As Club Secretary from 2008–2011, James helped modernise the club and lay foundations that continue to benefit us today. After returning to the club in 2021, he added plenty more silverware to the cabinet with our Saturday Over 35s, including three consecutive Best & Fairest awards (2022–24), two Players’ Player awards and the 2024 Top Goal Scorer.

200 games. 20 years. One club.

Congratulations, Kitch.

⚽️🏆⚽️ ON THIS DAY 10 YEARS AGO ⚽️🏆⚽️

Ahead of past players day tomorrow, we are taking you back 10 years to the day to September 4th, 2016….A historic day for the club as our women’s side were crowned Cup Champions defeating Pembroke in a penalty shootout.

Here’s a recap of how the day unfolded…

Fresh off a semi-final victory over league powerhouse Seymour, the OISC Women entered the grand final full of confidence having already defeated Pembroke twice during the season.

That confidence was immediately tested, with Pembroke racing to a 2-0 lead inside the opening six minutes. But the girls refused to panic. Coach Con Kapnistis made key changes to wrestle back control of the contest, and the comeback began when captain Sarah Tronnolone returned to the field and found the back of the net just three minutes before half-time.

The second half saw OISC take the game to another level. With the crowd urging them on, Sophie Hlipala burst down the wing and delivered a perfect cross to Eliza Sims, who calmly finished into the bottom corner to level the scores at 2-2.

What followed was a tense battle, with both sides creating chances but neither able to find a winner through normal time or extra time.

The grand final would be decided by penalties.

After OISC missed their opening spot kick, goalkeeper Olivia Lynch stepped up in a huge way, saving Pembroke’s first two penalties to swing momentum back in OISC’s favour. Ellie Lynch and Sarah Tronnolone converted their penalties, before Natalia Rossi picked the perfect moment to score her first goal of the season in sudden death. When Pembroke’s final effort sailed wide, the players, coaches and supporters erupted in celebration.

After the match, Coach Con Kapnistis praised the group’s character and determination, highlighting their ability to fight back from a difficult start and never stop believing.

A massive congratulations to all players, coaches, volunteers and supporters on a fantastic season and a well deserved championship!

If you’re a past player, we’d love to see you down at the club tomorrow to celebrate this special achievement and reconnect with the OISC family.

And keep your eyes peeled over the coming months… conversations are already underway about the return of women’s football at OISC in 2027 👀👀👀

A few snaps from a fantastic evening at the 2026 OISC Poker Night.

It was great to see the OISC family, young and old, come together for a night of cards, laughs and friendly competition.

Congratulations to AD, who took home the chocolates and a cool $1,000 cash prize after outlasting the field.

One of the highlights of the night was Sorgini landing a royal flush, a hand so rare it may well have been the first ever seen at an OISC Poker Night.

A massive thank you to Emerson for providing the lasagna, by all reports it was worthy of a seat at the final table.

Thanks to everyone who came along and helped make it another great club event.
