The wait is almost over! Our coaches have been putting in the work throughout the off-season to prepare for a huge 2026 pre-season, and we’re excited to get back out there.

🖤 GCC Appoints Simon Turk as Director of Junior Cricket 🤍

Simon steps into the role with a strong understanding of the club, a genuine passion for junior development through various community sport leadership roles, and a clear commitment to helping young cricketers enjoy the game, improve their skills, and feel connected to the GCC pathway.

At the same time, we want to sincerely thank Steve Lacy for his outstanding contribution to junior cricket at the club.

Steve’s work across an extended period has helped establish the HJL program as the genuine backbone of GCC’s strategic direction. His time, care, organisation and commitment have had a lasting impact on countless young players, families and volunteers.

Junior cricket is the foundation our club, without it, our senior system falls over and we are incredibly grateful for the foundation Steve has helped build.

We now look forward to Simon continuing that work and helping drive the next phase of junior cricket at GCC.

Congratulations to Brandon Kopper and Lucas Kamaric who have been selected for Tasmania to represent at the National Indigenous Cricket Championships.
The Tassie boys currently sit in third position, after five rounds, and have started well!!

Cricket Tasmania has announced it's 13-man squad for Cricket Australia's National Indigenous Cricket Championships in Mackay. Supported by Aurora Energy, Tasmania play their first match on Tuesday 14th April.

CTPL AWARDS NIGHT WRAP UP 🔥

Last Wednesday night, the CTPL Awards lit up Ninja Stadium in a celebration of a huge season!

A night recognising the hard work, skill and dedication of players across the competition — and our boys were right in the mix 💪

Leading the way was Jonty DeCotter, who capped off a standout season by taking home the prestigious Michael Di Venuto Medal with 19 votes 🗳️

Jonty didn’t stop there, also claiming the Under 18 Boys Bowling Aggregate and Bowling Average — a seriously dominant year 🔥

It was a strong showing across the board, with Zac Pfitzner, Tarkyn Jones and Jonty DeCotter all earning selection in the Under 18 Team of the Year 👏

An incredible effort from everyone involved this season — the future is bright, and we can’t wait to see what 2026/27 has in store 🚀

🖤🤍 GLENORCHY CRICKET CLUB LIFE MEMBER – TIM SPOTSWOOD

Some blokes earn Life Membership through games played. Some through years served. And then there are a rare few… who were born into it.

Tim Spotswood is Glenorchy Cricket through and through. The son of Chris “Crispy” Spotswood - a man who, for the better part of two decades, has quite literally held this place together with grit, time, and the kind of care you can’t fake.

Tim hasn’t just followed in his footsteps; he’s carried the load with him. From player, to clubman, to celebrity chef, to board member; this has never been a casual relationship!!

It has been a commitment; a responsibility; a rite of passage.

Congratulations Tim. A LIFE MEMBER, and now part of the foundation that others will stand on.
