Great morning weather wise. We had 17 members out to play croquet this morning. We welcome our new players, Sue, Joan, Meryl and Lyn. They will become great players and members of our Club. the mornings play was followed by coffee biscuits and socializing. A GREAT MORNING

Sunday Music Afternoon – A Fantastic Success

Another wonderful Sunday Music Afternoon was held at the Club on Sunday 12 April, with over ninety people coming along to enjoy the lively entertainment provided by the Barker Boys.
The dance floor was buzzing all afternoon — from line dancing to rock and roll, there was barely a moment when it wasn’t full of happy, energetic dancers.
A big thank you to everyone who attended and helped create such a vibrant atmosphere.

Club Holdfast 24+ Pennant Competition – Spring 2025
The 24+ Pennant team faced Brighton today, who currently sit second on the pennant table. With Brighton carrying a combined handicap of 27 against our Club Holdfast’s 47, we knew we were starting behind the eight ball.
Despite the challenge, our players acquitted themselves admirably, showing determination and skill throughout the match.
• Roger and Darren (handicap 20) secured a strong win against Brighton’s pair on handicap 12.
• Darren and Desley then combined brilliantly, edging out Brighton in a nail-biting finish. Their combined handicap of 28 overcame Brighton’s 17, winning five games to four in the final match.
These results are a testament to the resilience and teamwork of our players. While the 24+ competition remains a tough battleground, the signs are promising for the future — especially for our 9+ teams, who should be watched closely in upcoming fixtures.

This afternoon, members of the Club Holdfast Croquet Club gathered at the Junction Function Centre to celebrate Christmas together. The meal was most enjoyable, the atmosphere festive, and the company even better.

Storm-Interrupted, but Spirit-Soaked: A Croquet Day to Remember

A heartfelt thank you to Desley and Colin for welcoming us into their home and onto their charming croquet pitch for a delightful BBQ lunch and friendly competition.
Around fourteen members and friends gathered to enjoy Colin’s expertly grilled sausages and chicken, accompanied by a colourful spread of fresh salads. The croquet mallets were just warming up when Mother Nature decided to steal the show—bringing thunder, lightning, and a generous downpour that brought our match to an early close.
But spirits remained high as we tucked into a sweet finale: scones with jam and cream, vanilla slices, a vibrant fruit platter, and a few indulgent chocolates to round things off.
Despite the storm, it was a wonderful afternoon of camaraderie, laughter, and delicious fare. Our sincere thanks again to Desley and Colin for their generous hospitality and for sharing their croquet haven with us.

Music at the Club – Sunday Session Recap
What a fantastic afternoon we had on Sunday 31st August at Club Holdfast! Around 100 music lovers gathered for our second Sunday Music Afternoon, and the atmosphere was electric.
Fr
om 2pm to 5pm, the Rockin’ Dally Roos kept the crowd moving with their lively rock and roll tunes. The dance floor was buzzing, with Madame President Sue and Barry leading the way—well done to both for setting the tone!
A special shout out to the Glenelg Line Dancing group, who brought energy and flair to the floor with their impressive moves. Even I gave it a go trying to keep up—and it was a blast!

Our next music afternoon is coming up on Sunday 21st September. These events are a great way to connect, dance, and enjoy live music together. We’d love to see even more members join in the fun!
