🏃🏿‍♀️ WHAT A GREAT FIRST NIGHT BACK! 🏃‍♂️

It was awesome to see so many familiar faces back on the track last night, as well as welcoming our newly registered and trialling athletes! We’re so excited for another great season with our Mac Hunter family.
As we settle into the season, just a few important reminders to help keep our Friday night carnivals safe, smooth and enjoyable for everyone.

👟 WE NEED OUR PARENT HELPERS!
Every age group needs a minimum number of helpers to run their events. We need enough people to record, rake, measure and collect — and for some of our younger age groups, an extra set of hands for athlete wrangling is always appreciated!

That said… sometimes we can have too many hands — a good problem to have! 😂
Wherever possible, if your child’s age group already has enough helpers, we ask that additional parents/family members follow the group from outside the fence or from the grandstand.
This is particularly important with our Tiny Tots, who are a BIG group of little people! 🥰 One parent per child is more than enough.

🚫 CENTRE FIELD IS OUT OF BOUNDS!
We’re confident most of you would have heard our announcements about NO ENTERING THE CENTRE FIELD. This is extremely important and is a significant safety issue. Under no circumstances should members, parents or spectators use the centre field to walk across. Please use the outside of the track to access your events.
We know everyone wants to get where they need to be quickly, but keeping the centre field clear is essential for the safety of all, athletes and their families.

👕 If you are yet to order a uniform this closes 13th September. All registered athletes are required to wear a crop and or singlet to every carnival and championship event. Order here - https://www.karna.net.au/store/MACQUARIE-HUNTER-ATHLETICS-c203253501

🩵 Thank you for your patience, cooperation and continued support in helping us run a safe and smooth carnival each Friday night.
We welcome our LAST WEEK OF TRIAL ATHLETES on Friday 11th September and can’t wait to see you back on the track!

📣ARE YOU WEEK 1 READY? 📣

Here’s everything you need to know in preparation for our first night back.. THIS FRIDAY!

- Rego patches can be collected Friday 5pm onwards from the side office. These must be fixed to athletes uniforms (or their top until their uniform arrives).

- Trialing athletes must sign in at the side office upon entry and collect a wrist band.

- Athletes tots - 9s should head to the centre field upon arrival and sit behind their respective age group buckets by 5:30pm

- Athletes 10 and above should stay behind their respective age group buckets in the grand stand and wait for the call to warm up. Not before 6pm.

- Each age group will be given a folder with schedule of events, recording forms, track schematic, event how to’s and club record forms. Recording is available for week 1 however results will not be advertised - recording is for learning purposes this week.

- Age groups must follow the schedule and not jump to events. Location should also be followed eg: if you’re allocated discus cage 1 please don’t use discus cage 2. If you require support on where to go please speak to a committee member.

- Parents are expected to support age groups, if you are not supporting with raking, wrangling, measuring or recording you must stay behind the surround fence. If minimum support numbers are not met athletes will not commence their events.

- Any parents not supporting an age group are encouraged to support committee with track tasks, starting, recording, hurdle set up etc. We will ask weekly for various age groups to provide 1-2 parents to support this, many hands make light work! Or volunteer your support by heading to the end of the 100m front straight.

- Age managers please allow athletes to record a result within their first weeks of an event wherever possible. It’s important athletes have a season PB to work towards, while being supported in learning & understanding the correct way to perform the skill.

- Centre field should only be used for athlete warm up and is otherwise strictly out of bounds for all members.

- Treat the track and field like a road - do not run/walk in front of competing athletes. Look before crossing. Walk around the field to access your events.

- First 3 weeks can always feel a little overwhelming, hang in there. We’re getting good at this & have no doubt it will all settle shortly into the season.

- We are all volunteers, there are lots of members learning, lots of people teaching and everyone is doing their best. Our priority is a safe, smooth carnival - be kind and patient.
