Two weeks ago, six of our clubs made the annual trip to Mooroopna to compete in Softball Victoria's Masters Championships.

We were proud to see Northwood Falcons Softball Club, Northvale Softball Club, Monash Magic Masters Softball Club, Springvale, Eastern Raiders Softball Club and Brandon Heights Softball Club collectively field nine teams, with an outstanding eight of those teams progressing to the medal games.

It was also a fantastic tournament for our umpiring group. Seven of our umpires made the journey, with four earning appointments to medal games.

Congratulations to all of our players, coaches, umpires and scorers who represented our association!

We're down to the final two teams in the 2026 Winter Night Competition!

The second-placed Northwood Falcons Softball Club will take on Spectres next Wednesday night. Falcons boast the competition's best offence, but will it be enough to overcome the Spectres, who have the competition's best defence?

🚶 Safer access at the Waverley Women’s Sports Centre.

This year’s Budget includes $300,000 to deliver pedestrian walkways through the softball and netball precinct car park, including improved DDA accessibility.

Part of our 2026/27 Monash Budget investment in local community infrastructure, helping improve safety and accessibility for women, girls and families using the precinct.

Waverley Volunteer of the Year - 2026!

Over the course of the season Waverley is able to run our competition, nationals, night comps and everything else due to our amazing volunteers! We thank each and everyone for all your efforts this season!

Last night Waverley recognised 2 of their amazing volunteers with the WSA Volunteer of the Year Award for 2026!

Anne Campbell - throughout the entire nationals campaign and every week you would find Anne in the canteen not only helping with all the prep and cooking but serving and contributing in any way that was needed including taking food home to prep/cut for the next day! This fruit salads you all enjoy are because of Anne each week!

Cheryl Waye Oam - this year due to the efforts of Cheryl volunteering to do ALL the line marking every Friday for the summer season meant it was one less thing for clubs and WSA to worry about! And as if that wasn’t enough Cheryl took on the Junior Recruitment School Program - running and organising the program on behalf of the committee! Don’t forget if you book a diamond - Cheryl is the master of the keys too!

This is just a small overview of how much effort and time these two amazing ladies put into our association and we are very grateful for all their assistance!
