Our troupe weekend at Southern dance Festival was a huge success and a heap of fun despite the challenging and unpredictable lead up. So proud of our incredible students, you performed beautifully. Huge thanks to our incredible team of teachers and volunteers at this comp. Miss Leah, Miss Ruby, Miss Milie and Georgie, Claire, Clare, Kara and Wei Ee. And of course to the wonderful team of volunteers at SDF for giving us this opportunity to perform in such a beautiful theatre.
So wonderful to have such big sections for troupes from studios who are equally passionate about what is presented on the stage. Bravo to all involved. Miss Amber 🥰

Our dedicated Half-Day Program students were extremely fortunate to be examined today by Sian Stokes, former principal artist of The Australian Ballet Company .

This program has been created, developed and taught by Miss Kerrie Macarthur for the past 11 years. A truly exceptional teacher who we are so thankful to have at GISD. We are so grateful for her dedication and commitment to this program.

We are equally thankful to Miss Chiara Ferri for her wonderful work with the students on their variation solos.

We must also give a huge thank you to Miss Jayne Beddoe who has coached our extension students Milla and Dominik.

We have been associated with more than 20 secondary schools to give our students the opportunity to maintain a strong academic focus whilst extending their ballet training. A blend of 2 half-days taught by Miss Kerrie McArthur combined with after school syllabus classes. Our entire team brings a diverse, challenging and wholistic approach to the program. We support the individual on goal setting and finding realistic pathways towards elite full time academies.

What an incredible Sunday at the finals for the prestigious
We are so proud of our 11 finalists who danced so beautifully and represented our studio at such a high standard.

More than 600 students were selected by their studios to attend the initial auditions in May.

To be selected as a finalist by our incredible adjudicators from The Australian Ballet School and The Australian Ballet Company is an achievement in itself.

Congratulations to these wonderful students who were examined in their syllabus work this week. I am so proud of you all! A special mention to Milla and Sylvia who completed their final ballet exam ‘Excellence’, an outstanding achievement.I would like to thank our syllabus teachers Miss Nichola, Miss Leah and Miss Chiara on your work with the students and for the support this week in making sure the exams ran smoothly. Also to our studio director Miss Joanne on managing so much behind the scenes. This is the 21st year of exams with Ballet Conservatoire, I am a very proud teacher. Miss Amber
