The GRCYC would like to pay tribute to Tony Zussino and extend our deepest condolences to the Zussino family. Tony was a long-term club member of the GRCYC and exemplified sportsmanship on and off the water, always willing to support the club and its members in any way. From all of us at the club, thank you, Tony; you will be missed but always remembered.

An awesome afternoon of IOM radio sailing in Gladstone Marina. A BBQ lunch was first priority then 10 boats graced the start line for 5 handicap and 5 scratch races. Conditions could not have been much better with a 8 knot North Easterly breeze and incoming tide. A 2 lap windward, leeward course was the order of the day. The handicap racing was close with most races seeing the fleet converging on the finish in a tight bunch. What a great way to wrap up the 2025 season, the club will be hosting the CQ Titles in March 26. Club racing will commence again mid to late January.

Sunday, 19th October, is shaping up to be an ideal day for radio sailing at Gladstone Marina. The forecast indicates a north-easterly wind of approximately 8 knots. A strong fleet is also anticipated, with 10 international one meter boats expected to participate. If you are interested in learning more about the sport or considering it as a new hobby, you are welcome to attend and speak with club members. Boat rigging will commence at 12, with the first race scheduled for 1pm.

Gladstone Radio Control Yacht Club will take to the water of Gladstone Marina today 13.7.25 for a club race day. A beautiful winters day is expected, with East to North East winds 4 to 6 knots, maybe a bit lighter. Perfect conditions to really bring skill, boat tune and tactics to the forefront of the racing. First race will start at 1pm, if your looking for a new hobby which can also be a highly competitive sport depending on how serious you want to be with it, drop down check out the boats and talk to the friendly club members. Boats will be rigging from 12 next to Marine Rescue Qld.
