🎾 Junior Development Tournament Wrap-Up ☀️

On Thursday 16 April, we were so pleased to host our Junior Development Tournament at Gisborne Tennis Club.

We had 39 players compete across the Under 12s, Under 14s and Under 18s, with the round-robin format giving everyone plenty of opportunities to get out on court, compete, and challenge themselves. In total, around 80 sets were played — a fantastic effort by all 👏

What stood out most was the great effort, positive attitude, and the way players supported one another throughout the day. It was also fantastic to see so many kids connecting off the court as well — cheering on friends, hanging out together, and enjoying being part of the event ❤️

That’s what these events are all about:

💪 challenging yourself
👏 supporting others
😊 being active
🤝 connecting with friends and building a sense of belonging

Congratulations to all of our winners, and well done to every player who took part 🌟

🎾☀️ Junior Summer Competition Wrap-Up – Gisborne Tennis Club ☀️🎾

What a season it’s been! Our Junior Summer Season has wrapped up, and we couldn’t be prouder of everyone who competed.

✅ 9 teams
✅ Around 46 players involved across the season
✅ 6 teams made finals
✅ 3 teams made grand finals
🏆 And 2 teams came away as premiers — amazing effort!

But more than results, what we loved seeing week after week was the stuff that really matters: players having a go, sticking with the challenge, and continuing to improve — plus the way they carried themselves on court and supported their teammates.

Throughout the season we saw our club values on display:
💛 Respect | 💪 Effort | 🦁 Courage | 🤝 Empathy | 🌱 Growth

A big shoutout as well to everyone recognised at Presentation Day (Saturday 21 March) — congratulations to all MVP winners, and especially to our Best Sportsperson Award recipients. Being a great sport and teammate is something we’re incredibly proud to celebrate at Gisborne.

Thank you to everyone for a fantastic season. Well done to every player for their effort, and for representing their team and our club so strongly 👏

This event is a great opportunity for junior players who are already playing some form of competition to get more match play, challenge themselves, and continue building their game in a friendly and supportive environment.

Players will enter in their age group. Each player may enter one event only.
