The GDCA would like to congratulate Rupertswood Cricket Club - Birthplace of The Ashes player Rhys Berry and Gisborne Cricket Club player Brianna Woodburn on their selection in the Victorian Country Cricket League’s 2025/26 Team of the Year! Rhys is pictured here with GDCA President Simon Ovenden at today’s VCCL AGM where the presentations were made. Special congrats to Bri who was also named Captain of the Women’s team! Great stuff!

The Gisborne & District Cricket Association is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of past Riddell Cricket Club player Walter Beattie late last week. On behalf of all clubs, all players, and all supporters of our community, we express our heartfelt condolences to mum Jess, brother Edward and family, and all who will feel the loss of Walter within the community. Be at peace Walter.
