So after the T20 we got back to the one day comp on Saturday taking on Lochinvar at home.
Unfortunately the boys from the Belmore came up short against a good opposition. Bowling first and a man short it was a difficult day in the field with a few dropped chances and after the 35 overs Lochinvar finished their innings 7 - 172. Pick of the bowlers were S Newman 2 - 15 off 6 & K Balcombe 2 - 19 off 6. Jono Hickey again showing how its done in the field with another 2 catches. The Belmore boys could only manage 134 in reply with K Balcombe 30, D Thompson 17, J Hickey & B Sara 16 each were the best of the batsmen.

After the Christmas break The Belmore Hotel Cricket Club got stuck into the t20 format for a few weeks so here is a quick wrap of the results.

On Saturday 1612/23 The Belmore Hotel Cricket Club went up against Kurri Kurri at Howe Park Abermain. With the smoke still in the air from the bushfires the 8 boys from the Belmore Hotel Cricket Club went into bat frustrating the local lads to be 0 - 74 at drinks and finishing 5 down for 160. Scott Newman topped the scoresheet with 46, Kenny Balcombe 29, Jason Trowbridge 27. Brian 'Lucky' Hope and Brett Sara also had the Kurri crew pulling their hair out with a nice 45 run partnership. So then the Belly boys went out with ball and got off to a great start with Jason Lygoe picking up 2 wickets in the first over. Not long after that there was a couple of very dubious decisions that went against the Belmore boys and after a fiery finish to the game the locals got the win in the 32nd over 8 for 161. Jason lygoe was the pick of the bowlers with 4 for 29 off 7 overs and extremely unlucky not to bag a five fa.Very proud of all the guys for the guts and determination they showed and if not for a couple of dud decisions would have celebrated a great win. Great work fella's 👏🏻

On the 9/12/23 The Belmore Hotel Cricket Club took on Lochinvar Cricket Club in a t20 match at lochinvar. Not a great day with the temperature around the 42 degree mark but the Belmore boys won the toss and went into bat only to be bowled out in the 17th over 9 for 79.
Matt Trowbridge was the top run scorer again with 36 runs. Unfortunately not the best day for the Belmore boys with the ball after Lochinvar chased down the total in 10 overs 2 for 80, Jason Lygoe & Jason Trowbridge getting the two wickets

At last the boys get a win. We came up against the competition leaders but this time we had a full team. Winning the toss and electing to bowl, it wasn't looking good with a few catches going to ground and a couple of missed stumpings but there was reason to celebrate when Kenny Balcombe picked up his 250th wicket for The Belmore Hotel Cricket Club the Bulls ended their innings at 3 for 143. Kenny,Thomo and Trowy got the wickets and Jono took a pretty good catch. So out we went to bat and soon enough we were 2 for 19, that's when Kenny and Trowy went about their business with a 97 run partnership to have us in a good position at 3 for 116. We lost a couple of quick wickets but Kenny and Donny got us over the line in the 33rd over. Great win fellas 👏🏻
Kenny topped the scores with 60 no, Trowy scored a nice 41.

Round 5 turned out to be another hard day for The Belmore Hotel Cricket Club. Batting first after winning the toss the boys were bowled out for 83. Jamie Lee topped the batting card with 17. Rutherford chased down the runs in the 23rd over the best of our bowlers were Jason Trowbridge with 2 for 24 off 7 overs and Jono Hickey with 1 for 16 off 7. Players player votes went to Jono 3, Jimmy 2 & Neo 1. Well done fella's

Another tough day for the boys again last week, winning the toss and batting first we managed to scrap our way to 8 for 115. Donny topped the scores with a quick fire 35 including 6 boundaries. So then out in the field with 9 was hard going and tenambit got the runs after 27 overs. Jason Lygoe was the pick of our bowlers with 2 for 14 off 7 overs which included his 150th wicket for The Belmore Hotel Cricket Club. Well done Jason. And well done to Donny and Fuji for picking up 3 points each in the player of the year.
