Entries for our Pre-CCN Training Day close this Friday, 19 June. This is a popular training event and we've had to close entries early in the past. If you haven't done your entries yet, you've only got a few short days to get 'em in!

And the winner is..... OUR GIDGE SHOWJUMPING TEAM 🏆 👏

We are so proud of Ryan (and Sparky), Emily (and Jack), Makenzie (and Charlie) and Skye (and Oakley) who represented Gidgegannup Horse and Pony Club at the Pony Club WA State Showjumping Championships over the weekend.

They not only looked the part and each brought home individual placings.... But they took home the win in the coveted Kalamunda Pharmacy Teams Challenge. How good does that rug look on Sparky? What a handsome boy 🐴🐴

Thank you to the parents, supporters, horses and our riders for representing Gidge so well. Thanks also to Kalamunda Pharmacy for their sponsorship of the Teams Challenge - we know events like this don't happen without community support. And, of course, Pony Club WA for an outstanding event.

Beyond the standard lessons 🏇

We love keeping things fresh at our monthly rallies, giving our riders new and interesting things to try. Our May rally saw Working Equitation make an appearance.

Our riders were treated to a demonstration from experienced riders before our older members had a go themselves. They tried jousting, barrels, bending and more.

Thank you to Maggie Caporn for facilitating this terrific experience. We also want to thank Jill, Steve and the demonstration riders for coming down and giving our members the opportunity to see what Working Equitation is all about.

Happy Mother's Day to all our wonderful Mums ♥️

It may have been a rally day but it didn't stop us from having a lovely morning tea together (which didn't last long because all the kids kept trying to sneak in some goodies. We eventually just gave in and let them loose on the cake table. Oh well, it was worth a shot 😂).

🐴 There's something a bit different at Gidge this year...

Thanks to the incredible support of Community Bank Mundaring, we have been able to introduce an initiative that supports our riders' emotional wellbeing as well as their Pony Club development.

We are so proud to introduce the addition of Equine Therapy to our regular rallies - expertly facilitated by qualified mental health practitioner and Level 1 Pony Club coach, Nerine Butler-Blaxell.

Nerine has developed a specialist programme to help riders of all levels develop skills and coping strategies for their riding and for everyday life. We are so grateful to have her design this especially for us - at no extra cost to our members. And it wouldn't have been possible without the support of our local Bendigo Bank branch.

The first sessions kicked off at our April rally and will continue throughout the year. We'll keep you posted on how this unique programme is going and how it's helping our members be the best version of themselves.

We ♥️ Camp 🐴

The annual camp is one of the favourite activities on our Gidge Pony Club calendar.

It's a chance to hang out with our friends and have some silly fun with our ponies. Yes, we ride, but we also play dress ups, make pony treats, do craft and just bring it back to basics.

And if you think it's just for your little kids, think again. Even our teenagers (and parents... 😉) love the change of pace.

A huge thanks to Jan Lawrie and Dianne Colley for another super camp.

📢AN ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT OUR MARCH TRAINING DAY 📢

With a bit more clarity overnight regarding the upcoming weather, we have decided to cancel our Dressage, SJ and XC Training Day on Sunday, 29 March 2026.

While the weather on Sunday is looking perfect for a Training Day, the storms expected over Friday and Saturday will be damaging.

During March 2025's storms, our grounds took a beating - especially our XC course. This weather system, generated by Cyclone Narelle, is expected to be worse. We simply can't guarantee the safety of the grounds for Sunday - and safety is something we take very seriously.

For anyone that pre-entered, we will be processing refunds over the next 24 hours.

Thanks for your understanding and we hope to see you at our June Training Day.

The weather is cooling off - are you itching to get some training in? 🐎🍂

We are accepting entries on the day for Showjumping and XC at our March Training Day, this Sunday (29 March). This is a great opportunity to get in some practice or familiarising young horses in a low-stress, high-enjoyment day.
