I need to say something that might ruffle a few feathers.
Most lead magnets are designed backwards.
And it's not your fault.
Because here's what we've ALL been taughtโฆ
"Create something valuable. Give it away for free. Build your list. Then sell to them later."
Sounds logical.
Except there's a fatal flaw in that logic.
When you design a lead magnet to attract the MOST people possibleโฆ
You end up attracting the LEAST qualified people possible.
Think about it.
A free checklist. A free guide. A free meditation.
Who does that attract?
People who like free stuff.
Not people who are ready to invest $2,000โฆ $3,000โฆ $5,000 in working with you.
And then we wonder why our "nurture sequence" feels like screaming into a void.
It's because we filled the room with people who came for the free appetizersโฆ
And now we're trying to sell them a 5-course meal.
Of COURSE they're not buying.
They were never going to.
The lead magnet told them they didn't have to.
Here's what nobody talks aboutโฆ
Your lead magnet isn't just a list builder.
It's a FILTER.
And right nowโฆ most of ours are filtering IN the wrong people.
The freebie hunters. The "I'll just figure it out myself" crowd. The perpetual browsers.
While filtering OUT the people who would've happily paid usโฆ
If we'd just given them a reason to raise their hand.
So what does a lead magnet look like when it's designed to attract BUYERS instead of browsers?
That's exactly what I'll be sharing in my next post.
But here's a hintโฆ
It doesn't give people information.
It gives them CLARITY.
About themselves. About their problem. About what they actually need.
And when someone gets that kind of clarityโฆ
They don't just stay on your list.
They book a call.
๐ฌ Real talk โ does your current lead magnet attract freebie hunters or future clients? Be honest. I won't judge. I had the same problem for years. ๐
