The Geraldton Hockey Association page is for the promotion and information sharing for the benefit of the Geraldton hockey fraternity. The GHA encourage our members to get involved and welcomes posts from supporters on this page. Please be mindful of our online hockey family and keep this space pleasant for everyone, and keep your comments tasteful and respectful. Everyone is entitled to

have an opinion on a subject - just remember you as an individual are responsible for the way you communicate your opinion to others (language, tone and appropriateness)

With finals just around the corner, the Geraldton Hockey Association (GHA) would like to take a moment to remind all clubs, players, coaches, parents and spectators of the importance of respectful behaviour and good sportsmanship.

Finals hockey is an exciting time for everyone. There is naturally more pressure, emotion and passion involved, but it is important that this remains within the spirit of the game and the expectations of the GHA Code of Conduct.

Remember:

Respect comes first – players, coaches, umpires, officials, opposition teams and spectators should all be treated with respect.

Swearing and abusive language are not appropriate, particularly in a junior sporting environment.

Homophobic, discriminatory or derogatory comments or slurs will not be tolerated.

Support your team positively – cheering and encouraging players is welcomed, but personal attacks, intimidation or criticism of opposition players and officials is not.

The GHA Code of Conduct applies to everyone who walks through the gates, not just the players on the field.

We want our finals series to be remembered for great hockey, competitive games and the fantastic support our clubs and families provide – not for incidents occurring on the sidelines.

Let's all do our part to ensure that finals are a positive, safe and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.

Thank you for your continued support of the GHA and for helping us promote a culture of respect and good sportsmanship across our hockey community.

**Revised Junior Grand Final Times**

Please note game times for the junior grand finals this Friday. This allows all of our games to be played on Turf 1 and also for clubs to support all of their teams.

We will also present the Junior Women and Men's All Stars teams following the 10/12 Girls and 10/12 Boys team after each respective game.

Your game may be starting earlier or later - so please double check.

The 2026 KMSB Youth International Gryphon Cup (YIGC) for boys and girls will be held in Perth from Thursday 26th November to Sunday 29th November 2026. YIGC is an under 16 competition (born after 1 January 2010).

Nominations are now open to boys and girls for selection in the OMSB Outbacks Teams. In 2026, OMSB is coming on board as the team's major sponsor. There will be ONE Regional boys team and ONE regional girls team selected from these Regional trials.

Saturday 3rd October @ 12.00pm to 3.00pm (Girls Turf 1, Boys Turf 2)

Teams will be announced by close of business on 6th October.
