Big thank you to Kick Solutions for printing them out for us and Dempsey for cutting them allll out for us over 4 long evenings! It was a massive tedious job so we are so grateful 🙏

🐯 Honouring Our Life Members 🐯

Remembering the people whose dedication, service and love for Chapman Athletic Soccer Club helped build the club we proudly call ours today.

🕊💛🌹 George Sekuloff 🌹💛🕊

1st Life Membership Awarded in 1974

As we celebrate 80 years of Chapman Athletic Soccer Club, there are some stories that take us right back to where it all began.

George Sekuloff's is the origin story.

In 1946, George was among a group of Macedonian migrants and friends who came together to establish what would become Chapman Athletic Soccer Club Inc.

Many were tomato growers in Glenfield, building new lives for their families while creating a community of their own. Together, they established both our Soccer Club and the Macedonian Society of Geraldton Inc from the ground up. Both still standing proudly today in Midwest, Geraldton.

Alongside men including John Sotiroff, Stan Melanko, Jim Adams and Sam Adamos, and many more from that original group of friends, George helped create something that none of them could have known would still be thriving 80 years later.
And apparently, even in Chapman's earliest days, the social side of the club was already well established! 🍻😂

B**r was sold from a caravan at the ground, and by the time the B Grade game was finished, the beers were already flowing.

Football, friendship, family and community some Chapman traditions apparently haven't changed too much in 80 years. 🐯

🖤💛 A Lifetime in the Black & Gold

George didn't simply help establish Chapman and then move on.

He stayed.

He remained involved with the club throughout his life, giving more than five decades to the place he helped create.

In 1974, his extraordinary contribution was recognised when he was awarded our very first Life Membership.

George continued to be part of Chapman right up until his passing in 2015.

🏅 The George Sekuloff Medal

Following George's passing, the club introduced the George Sekuloff Medal in 2016, awarded each season to the Fairest & Best player in Chapman's Men's League team.

It remains one of the ways we ensure the contribution of our founding generation isn't forgotten.

George's family continues to support the award each year, making a financial contribution towards the medal as their way of thanking Chapman for continuing to recognise and celebrate his remarkable five-decade legacy.

And perhaps George's greatest legacy can't be represented by a medal at all.

It can be seen every weekend when another generation walks through the gates, pulls on a black and gold shirt, volunteers, coaches, cheers from the sidelines or simply stays behind after the game for a drink with their mates.

That's the club George and his friends started building in 1946.

From a group of Macedonian migrants and tomato growers in Glenfield with a love of football and community... to 80 years of Tigers.

George may not be here to celebrate this milestone with us, but the club he helped create certainly is.

And there could be no greater tribute than that.

Thank you, George Sekuloff, and all of our founding members, for giving generations of us a club to call home.

Your name remains.
Your contribution unmatched.
Your legacy lives on.

💛 Happy Father’s Day to all our dads, uncles, grandfathers and significant others our wonderful DUGS at Chapman! 🐅

We are incredibly grateful for everything you contribute to our club as coaches, volunteers, sponsors, parents, linesmen, committee members and Life Members and, of course, to Chapman’s O.G. dad, Carlo Licastro, no one sees everything you do for all the kids in the Midwest Club, GJSA, Referees, MSA whilst running your own business, kudos to you 👏.

To everyone who leads, inspires, includes and generously shares their time with our players: the difference you make will never be forgotten.

It truly takes a village, and we are so thankful you are part of ours. 💛🐅

We’re at the tail end of the 2026 season! There’s a lot happening over the next week, so here’s the shortest version of everything you need to know.

THIS SUNDAY!!! 6 September
Final Games for U7s, U9s & U10s
Knockout Cup Round 2 for U11s & U13s and Knockout Cup Round 1 of U15s.

Teams still in the Cup will continue playing Sundays, please check GJSA Facebook/Squadi for fixtures.

Important!
After games, please follow your coaches to the front of the La Fiamma clubhouse near the canteen:
🏅 Participation Medals for U7 to U11
🧃 Chips & Juice
U11 Yellow & Tigers: I’ll collect your medals & bring to the 23 September Windup, unless your coaches want to meet you all down there and cheer on the U11 Black's who play at 12pm.
Quick Housekeeping: Please make sure chip packets, juice boxes and other rubbish make it into the bins at both GJSA and CASC presentations/windups.
Please remind players and spectators that while there is a little more excitement around knockout games, our expectations remain the same respect for referees and opposition, good sportsmanship and, most importantly, enjoyment of the game. No Coaches, Linesmen or Players should approach or speak to Referees.

I want to personally thank everyone for your patience and understanding this season while I’ve juggled a more-than-full-time workload at work, work travel and my Club commitments.

I’ve been genuinely touched by how many parents have stepped forward to help whether once, often, or simply by asking “What can I do?” It has absolutely not gone unnoticed. It takes a village, and I’m very grateful for ours.

Thank you to our players, coaches, managers, sponsors, volunteers and families for another fantastic season, and for choosing Chapman Athletic to be part of your family. We look forward to celebrating your kids with you!

A big thank you to Rigters IGA Queens for sponsoring the GJSA Chips that all players will receive at the conclusion of their games tomorrow 😀.

Through the IGA Community Chest Program, we were recently able to support the Geraldton Junior Soccer Association with a donation.

We love being able to give back to local organisations that help bring our community together and, most importantly, provide great opportunities for our local kids to get involved in sport, build confidence, make friends and have fun. 🙌

A big thank you to everyone involved with Junior Geraldton Soccer Association for the work you do for our young players and our community.
