π A look back at the start of this month's 2023 Australian Powerchair Football Association Inc. Club Championships at Sydney Olympic Park, and how it provided a whirlwind of experiences and as always, provided our footballers with the privilege to be able to play the sport of Powerchair Football at the highest level nationally over the weeklong competition.
β Our eight powerchair footballers were proud to represent the Adelaide Comets FC for the first time at the Championships, and we cannot wait to work towards 2024 with renewed vigour and optimism! For Joshua Yap and Alexander Pedersen, your debut campaign and the performances you produced could not have been more impressive!
π° Overall, our Comets came away from the 2023 campaign with 3 wins, 2 draws, and 4 losses, scoring 15 goals while conceding 8 goals, to finish 7th overall.
π
Our superstar midfielder, Santo Bongiovanni, took home the Adelaide Comets' MVP Award, and was voted by his peers across the competition as the Player's Player MVP. Congratulations on leading us with your fine play!
π Overall, we would like to give a massive thanks to our players, coaches, families and support staff for their unwavering commitment to the team and throughout the lead up and during this 2023 campaign.
π«Ά And now that we have had a chance to sit and reflect, the 2023 Adelaide Comets Powerchair Football Club would like to take a moment to thank our sponsors in Regen Therapy, Victoria Grove Estate, Pickering Transport Group, One Culture Support Services, Support Your Way and Daley's Auto, Marine & Upholstery Supplies
Without their logistical and financial support, attendance of this year's Club Championships would not have been possible. We are grateful for you all jumping on board, and can't wait to see what the future holds for our football in SA!
