Vale Faye Heppell

We would like to send our heartfelt condolences to Bill, Craig, Katrina and their families on the passing of Faye.

Faye was a great support to Bill when he was President of the club.

In Bills words, “ She tried to keep me out of trouble “. And she did this maintaining her lovely smile.

SENIOR COACH APPOINTMENT | DARREN HAMILTON

Gembrook Cockatoo Football Netball Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Darren Hamilton as Senior Football Coach for the 2027 and 2028 seasons.
Darren brings more than 20 years of coaching experience across senior and development football, with a strong reputation for leadership, player development and building strong football programs.

From 2022 to 2025, Darren led Belgrave’s senior football program, overseeing a significant transition of the playing group with a strong focus on youth development, player retention and creating opportunities for emerging players at senior level.
His coaching experience also includes success at development level, highlighted by back-to-back U19 premierships in 2017 and 2018.

Most recently, Darren has spent the 2026 season with Beaconsfield as Senior Assistant and Midfield Coach, further adding to his extensive coaching experience.

Throughout our coaching process, Darren’s experience, leadership, football knowledge and commitment to developing players stood out. His focus on setting high standards, building strong relationships and creating a positive and successful football culture strongly aligns with the direction of our club.

With an exciting young playing group complemented by experienced senior players, we believe Darren is the right person to lead the next chapter of senior football at Gembrook Cockatoo and continue building our program for sustained success.

We’re excited to welcome Darren and his family to the Brookers and look forward to what we can build together over the next two seasons.

That’s a wrap on the 2026 season!

Our Seniors and Reserves fought hard right until the final siren, while our U18’s gave it everything narrowly missing out on the win.

Over on the netball court, it was a great finish to the season with three wins! Our 17&Under, C Grade and B Grade sides all came away with the win. 🏐💚

A huge thank you to every player, coach, volunteer, supporter, sponsor and family member who has been part of our 2026 season. We couldn’t do it without you!
