Today, we held our first session for the Ready for Senior Cricket Program. The Ready for Cricket program is designed to help our junior players confidently transition into senior cricket.

Firstly, we'd like to thank our main mentor, Peter Herrick, and volunteers coaches Tanner Hay, Gus Cranny, Benny Demasi, Connor Hangan and Tayne Hewson for taking ownership of the groups today.

Today was batting focused, and it was great to see our crew listen to the coaches, dive in, and put in the work. More importantly, everyone who attended looked to have enjoyed the session.

A huge thank you to Ritchie Bros. for proudly sponsoring the program and supporting the development of our young Magpies.

The program will prepare our next generation of Magpies through:

⚫ Technical skills and game awareness
⚫ Professionalism and club expectations
⚫ Confidence for senior cricket

Our goal is to help each player understand what senior cricket requires, develop their skills and prepare them to make a positive contribution both on and off the field.

This is about more than cricket—it is about developing confident young people who understand the standards, behaviours and values of the North Geelong Cricket Club.

🏏 NGCC COACHING ANNOUNCEMENT, DANIELLE! 🖤🤍

We’re thrilled to announce Danielle as our newest cricket coaching appointment!

Dani brings an impressive background in sport, coaching and leadership, with years of experience coaching netball, leading teams to premiership success and five years in cricket leadership roles — including captaining a cricket premiership and two runner-up premiership sides. 🏆

Her commitment to developing players is backed by a strong collection of coaching, mentoring and safeguarding qualifications, including netball foundation and development coaching accreditations, child safeguarding for cricket coaches, and specialised mentoring and coaching development courses.

It’s a fantastic combination of experience, leadership, knowledge and a genuine passion for helping players grow. We’re incredibly excited to have Dani bringing those qualities to NGCC. 🙌🏏
