OUR MISSION STATEMENT
GRD is a volunteer-run roller derby league that aims to provide a safe, inclusive, and fun space for people to roller skate. Our goal is to promote health & fitness, competition, and friendship to skaters of all levels of ability, through skate fitness and roller derby programs. We live and operate by 3 core values; Community, Perseverance, and Respect. OUR VALUES:

Community - Our club is a safe space, where everyone from all walks of life are welcome. We celebrate all of our members and their abilities, and our priority is for members to find a connection and find their people. We aim to involve every member in competitive and social aspects of the club, with gameplay and learning opportunities available at every level. Respect - Every member, coach, fellow skater, competitor, and community member we meet deserves to be treated with dignity, kindness, and with regard for their feelings, wishes and rights. We accept and value all of our members for their contributions to the league, aim to foster a healthy and positive environment, and we respect ourselves and fellow skaters by showing up and giving everything our all. Perseverance - GRD believes we should not let fear of a perceived failure or difficulty of a task stop us from trying. We do our best to not give into our shortcomings, whether real or imagined; instead, we choose to thrive on our strengths and continue to challenge ourselves to be the best we can be.

Special and heartfelt shout out to Dakota Blocker for her YEARS of service on excom, effort, pride, late nights, hard work, and dedication to the club. Without her drive and effort, the club would not have sustained through the pandemic, neither grown in members and opportunities for skaters. Words can hardly convey how much we love you.
We appreciate you so much Dax, thank you.

Wow this weekend was a hoot. It was so fun and Geelong didn’t go down without a fight against our opponents. Not only were the hits in full force, but their offence and strategy got us in the end. Well done East vic, as always, a pleasure to skate against you all!

We are eager and ready to get skating this weekend for the semi-finals of Statewide Stampede in Warragul.

On the 15th of August The Bloody Marys take on our friends, The Witches from East Vic Roller Derby . Also bonusing as an unnoffical rematch after TGSS 2026. 😜

Join the Fresh to Derby program for 10 Weeks to build your skills from the ground up!

- Build core strength and endurance.
- Find your balance while pushing yourself to learn new skills.
- Meet new people and form relationships that last a lifetime.

Where: Barwon Valley Activity Centre

Geelong Roller Derby is an inclusive community-run sports club.
It is run by the skaters, for the skaters, to get anybody and everybody up on wheels - working hard and having fun.
We train and play by our values of Community, Respect and Perseverance.

This course is open to skaters 18+ years, and all experience levels - even those who have never put on a pair of skates in their life.
We start from the ground up, cover basic skating skills, then teach you all about the amazing sport of Roller Derby.

This past weekend has been FULL.
We had so much fun with Ballarat Roller Derby League at their beloved Skating with Pride event.

Thank you for all the smashy smashy goodness and tricks on track. The laughs, the bruises and the much appreciated baked goods to keep us going strong.
