Our shining star ✨ Olga celebrated 3 years of Pilates-ing last week and we are SO PROUD!

She's been with the best, starting with Steph .oceangrove moving onto and now I'm lucky to take Olga through sessions here in East Geelong.

Olga does 1x reformer pilates and 1x athletic Pilates circuit (with her 2 daughters!) a week and reaping the rewards of her consistency and dedication! Keep it up πŸ’ƒπŸ»

My parents have been visiting from the UK and it's been a busy November with Birthdays, hens, stags, a wedding πŸ”” and a well needed week off in South Australia 🦘

This Karate loving lady came to Reformer Pilates after hurting her back. After practicing Pilates 1-2 times per week to get back to her one true love, Karate, she now feels stronger, more stable and confident performing her routines.

I love this about reformer Pilates! Be it Karate, Golf, running or kayaking - you can feel stronger and more confident in your one true love activity. For me, it's eliminated my back aches and comfort during and after running 😍

Do you know what the Physical Activity Guidelines are?
Are you meeting them?

Some weeks I meet them, some weeks I don't. The important thing is I know what I'm aiming for in one given week and don't beat myself up if I don't reach it.

Knowing the PA Guidelines can help you plan your week of movement.

πŸ’₯150 - 300 mins moderate cardio per week
OR
πŸ’₯75 - 150 mins vigorous cardio per week
AND
πŸ’₯2-3 x resistance / weight training sessions per week bringing each major muscles group to fatigue.

Now you know them too, it's time to plan your week!

What to expect...
This class will include a mixture of strength training plus some cardio, expect a full body workout and to break a sweat.
You'll work in a circuit style across the mat and reformer to some pumping tunes and your biggest cheerleader (me) will be by your side the whole way!

Did you know Prenatal clients have the same physical activity guidelines as adults who are not pregnant?

In uncomplicated pregnancies, it's advised that you continue exercise!
Guidelines suggest keeping cool and hydrated 😎, avoid prolonged supine positions (lying on back) as you get bigger (20+ weeks) and choose exercises that have a low fall risks.

Apart from that, do what feels good for you during this time in your life πŸ™Œ It's a great time to start healthy habits!

Some self practice comparison! I think these were a couple months apart...

I was never a bendy wendy and never felt the need to be. However, seen strengthening and practicing back bending I have reduced my aches and pains to nil. I still have a flare up once every few months, but it's nothing that gets in the way and it's usually when I've had time off self practice!

Moral of the story - keep practicing! Your body is an amazing thing!
