Balyang Sanctuary parkrun A free, weekly, timed 5k event every Saturday morning at 8am in Balyang Sanctuary, Geelong. Everyone is welcome to walk, run or volunteer.

parkrun has come to Geelong... Established 25th August 2012! So far we've got a small band of volunteers and would be grateful to anyone who would like to jump on board to make the event the success it is all over the globe – so please spread the word to help us make Balyang Sanctuary parkrun Geelong a huge success. 12th September 2026

This week 261 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 20 were first timers and 50 recorded new Personal Bests. We also had visitors from Parkville, Maribyrnong and Torquay. We hope you enjoyed our event.

Good evening parkrunners

We’ve got a full roster and we’re ready to go in the morning

It’s no great revelation that tomorrow’s event is #666, so let’s hope it won’t be an apocalypse with the usual protocols in place: first timer/visitor briefing just after 7:50, followed by the main briefing and a start as close to 8:00 as we can get

Please don’t forget your barcode, please stay on the path at the start, keep left and be courteous to other users of the path

A coffee van has got a permit and has indicated that they will be present in the carpark tomorrow morning. So if you need a caffeine burst after your parkrun, they’ll be there for you.

It's Friday eve, and would you believe - we've mostly got all the roles covered, so going ahead we've achieved. Our volunteers are the best, better than all the rest ;) If you want to put that idea to the test - then sign up for a spot next week (the 12th) - it's a MESS!

But, as for tomorrow, come sun or come rain - we will be there at 7:50am to explain - the course to those who are new or have travelled here too! For the rest, come dressed in your best guess for the weather - just make sure dogs are on a short hand held tether.

As is always the case, please spread out based on your pace - we will be widening the cones' location, to allow for a nicer flow at the start presentation. Please keep left and be kind - say passing if coming from behind. ;)

We are thrilled to have you come run with us, so without further fuss - see you tomorrow don't be a sourpuss ;)

The roster is as good as full, all the tokens from last week have been sorted, the vollie vests have been washed and we’re ready for the off tomorrow morning

Please follow the usual protocols:

* don’t forget your barcode
* please listen to the Run Director when the main briefing starts
* try and get onto the path at the start. Why you may ask? Well we are going to try to get everyone on the path in the morning to see if that eases congestion in the first few hundred metres.
* please be courteous to other people on the path, parkrunners and non-parkrunners alike
* have fun

Hi folks, to give everyone time to find an alternative event, if the role of finish tokens cannot be filled by 8pm tonight, we will have to cancel tomorrow’s event.
