Our Club has been and is traditionally part of the local community, growing over the years and expanding its reach. Our aim is to promote and encourage the sport of football and netball in general. In addition to this, the Club offers a wide range of benefits to its Members including our fantastic club rooms which are available for private functions (christenings, birthday celebrations, engagement

s, weddings, fundraisers, wakes and any other type of function which we are fully able to cater for), gym facilities, bar facilities and what we consider the best catering in Geelong. Social memberships are available to those who are just looking to join in a friendly club atmosphere located in Newtown. We all look forward to seeing you here, either playing, volunteering, spectating or enjoying the company of friends old and new.

Congratulations to the NCFNC players on being named Read the Play MVP’s this round.
Findlay, Lachlan & Harriet were recognised for best demonstrating the values of Respect, Courage and Teamwork during their respective games.

Local sporting clubs play such an important role in the lives of young people. They are places where friendships are formed, trusted adults are present, and conversations can happen
before things reach crisis point. Always remember to check in on your mates.

Well done to all players, clubs, officials and families for embracing the spirit of the round on and off the field/court.

This week’s Lenny Alford Volunteer of the Week, proudly sponsored by the Great Western and the Dean Family, is Melissa Howard.

Melissa is the driving force behind the coordination of our volunteers, managing the countless moving parts that help our club operate week in and week out. From game days and Thursday night meals to special events and club functions, Melissa works tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure everything runs smoothly.

It’s a massive role, and quite simply, our club would not function the way it does without her dedication and commitment.

What makes Melissa even more special is that she doesn’t just coordinate volunteers – she is one herself. Whether it’s setting up Thursday night meals, helping with the coffee cart on game days, or jumping in wherever an extra pair of hands is needed, Melissa leads from the front and is always willing to roll up her sleeves and get the job done.

She was also instrumental in the success of our Big Freeze event, being one of the first people to arrive and one of the last to leave, helping ensure the day was a huge success.

Melissa, thank you for everything you do for our club. It is only fitting that this week’s Volunteer of the Week award goes to the person who helps make volunteering happen for everyone else.
