Geelong club day

It was a cold day at Geelong kart club on Sunday. Running 2 classes again but back in the long track formation. Both kart handled amazing all weekend but I’ll definitely need to work on getting faster

Tag 125 open light.
Qualified P1/p6 with the fastest lap 44.872 and second place being 45.216.

Heat 1 started P1 and finished P1.kart felt amazing all race and was very happy with the set up so I decided not to touch that kart.

Heat 2 got off to a bad start tangling with another kart but it is racing we fought back and stole P2 away from Glenn was just very luck he opened the door for me. But we were struggling with the kart not releasing off the corners.

Final time we done some changes and the kart became completely alive opening a good gap finishing P1

Restricted light

After limited practice it was all or nothing

Qualified P1/P12 fastest lap being 45.642 and second getting46.280

Heat 1 and 2 was on a great setup and was managing tyre wear.

Final time after some amazing battles with a young driver named Beau we have been practicing together for a very long time so to be able to battle each other is amazing.

Geelong club day

This was a different weekend we had

Let’s just start from the start. Saturday we had great speed in both karts the tag kart was still super fast no changes were required. Changed the tyres to a newer set on the restricted kart and it resurrected the kart back to what it used to be but the weather gods had other plans in mind the rain came. Before the track closes for the day we got 1 kart setup done for the wet on Sunday but I still had a lot of work to do the next day to get them both race ready.

Sunday the race day.

After a struggling weekend last club day we push hard to have a better weekend this time.

Let’s start in order tag light it was a wet qualifying didn’t have the right pressure in the tyres so it was a very hard kart to control but I was able too pull a p3 finish. We were combined with the open class which are dd2 karts paddle shift

With the heats coming up we changed pressures to get those wets to come up to temp and that’s what they did on heat 1 and we we’re blitzing creating a nice move on a great driver named kosta and with the door he left open for myself I took it and was able to hold on too that lead.

Heat 2 I took the gamble and went back to slicks but I ran out of time to put my torsion bar back in which made the kart hard to put it in the corner but my next class will tell you why

Final time with the practice from yesterday we used the knowledge and set up and we were gone but not just that we were leading the dd2 class but with there extra speed on the straight he picked me off on the last 2 laps but was on his bumper through the corners like glue. Still finished p1 in class very happy for this result

Restricted light this class was straight after tag light so once I came in it was run to the next kart and jump back in and go

Qualified p5 same problem wrong pressure again

Heat 1 found massive time and pulled a p2 finish but there was more time to find

Heat 2 we done the same gamble but this time I didn’t forget the torsion bar so the kart actually turned the corners. Finished p2 in that race but it was a drag race too the end only being 0.041 of a gap to the line. Massive congrats to buea for holding me off I’ve done heaps of laps with you mate and you are becoming a great driver. Great to have you in the same team.

Final time starting p2 and we had a mega start and set sail and left the group hold p1 all the way too the finish but with massive lap times that helped me and consistency. Finishing 11.461 seconds ahead of second.

Massive thank you everyone for there amazing help

Bryce Hanson for your help with the karts when I came in it was a massive helping hand with that thank you so much

Big thanks to lansdown for your amazing support with warming the restricted kart up and getting it too the grid for me when I was out in the tag kart.

City of Melbourne titles

What an unexpected even going in with high hopes of hopefully finishing higher than I did last year well wasn’t the case. None the less we take it back as track and kart data and we tried different things and learnt a lot.

Having good speed with practice 1 and 2 we done a change for practice 3 and went completely backwards. Worst thing is the set ups we had weren’t for a cold greasy track.

Saturday rolls in with a nice super cold morning at 8am roll out. Kart felt good but only gave us slow times not having the grip I needed. Qualified p22 not the start I needed.

Heat 1 with an upsetting qualifying we put our heads together to give us a better kart to battle with and we found speed with 2 laps in we made it too p12 only to get driven over and caused massive damage. Broken tie rods, bent stub axel and bent steering column.

Heat 2 with limited data we ran off of we didn’t make the figures we wanted in this race finishing p23

Heat 3 we tried a different set up again but we wet cut short with a fouled plug on roll around lap

Now time for the final. Started 2nd last and was trying to get up from p32. Off too a great start creating moves and finishing p18 but due to drop downs finished p20 all and all happy for the result after all the drama we had this weekend with limited track time

Big thanks too everyone for all there help this weekend couldn’t of done it without you
