We had a great weekend racing outrigger canoes at Patterson Lakes!
Cool breezy conditions with a great 2nd half tailwind on Saturday. Then a lovely sunny morning on Sunday with a light breeze and dolphins! 🐬
Well done to the team, great results. Congrats to the long course ladies crew who came home with the stunning hand carved perpetual trophy! 🏆

Takapuna Beach Cup.
14 February 2026.
Western Beaches ladies crew thoroughly enjoyed racing in NZ. Up against some mighty crews and challenging conditions we had a great time, met some fabulous people and caught up with paddling friends from afar.
Great race, well organised, 5 stars!

PV Dolphin Challenge - 7/12/2025.
7 x OC6, 4 x OC1, 2 x V1 and an OC2 amongst the ocean ski’s in some fun and challenging conditions!
Western Beaches had members racing in OC6 and OC1 - shout out to our girls as the only ladies OC6 crew that took on the long course.
Great turn out from the other SS Zone clubs.
Well done to all!
Huge thanks to the Paddle Vic Ocean Racing technical team to include outrigger craft in these events.
We don’t get a lot of opportunities to race in our zone and having this option open to us was awesome - hopefully we can continue this arrangement going forward!

Summer ☀️. What’s that?! We spent a chilly, drizzly summer morning with our friends from Patterson Lakes Outrigger Club and Geelong Outrigger Canoe Club paddling the waters of Corio Bay 🌊, saying hello to the new Spirit of Tasmania 🛳️, viewing the Christmas Tree 🎄 and jumping in and out of the canoes 💦. Good times and good prep for our race there tomorrow 🏁.
