Aspley Athletics Aspley Athletics is the senior club of Aspley Little Athletics. Athletes aged 12 years or older are eligible to register.

Hello everyone,

The field is still currently closed due to the works being undertaken by The BCC.

Training will also be suspended for an unknown period of time due to health issues that I need to have corrected.

I will notify when training can re-commence.

Field update:

The Brisbane City Council closed the field to all persons in early April to carry out major upgrade works. The track is still closed to all training and delays in the work has occurred due to the recent wet weather.

The track is not expected to re-open until at least mid June. Unfortunately, this means that training will not be available until the works are complete.

Winter training starts this Monday 29 April from 4pm. See you there.

Winter training will available on Monday and Wednesday afternoons commencing on Monday 29 April. The field lighting is still not operating so training will be from 4pm until there is insufficient natural light. Preferably, athletes can arrive at 3.45 pm for warm up to maximise training time.

Cross country training will also be offered during these sessions by Coach Kyle Willis.

Cost will be $15 for members of Aspley Little Athletics and regular squad members and $20 for non Aspley athletes per session. Payment for sessions is strictly in advance or on the day of the session. Please advise in advance of your attendance so that I can arrange additional coaches as required.

Good luck to Winzar Kakiouea who has been training with us in preparation for the World Championships in Budapest. Winzar will be representing Nauru in the 100 metres. The entire squad wishes him well and hopes for great results. Hopefully a new Nauru record.

Huge congratulations to Abi Steele and Luke Morsch for there results in the Queensand Athletics State Championships. Abi finished in 1st place for the U13 hurdles and Luke finished 2nd in the triple jump. Both were PB's and both qualified for the National Championships.
