🚧 Toilet Upgrade Update – Gawler Sport & Community Centre

Good news! ✅ Stage 1 is now complete and the female toilets and accessible toilet next to the Youth Shack are now open and available.

We’ve now moved into Stage 2 🚧
During this stage:

❌ Male toilets nearest to the stadium are closed
🚿 Men’s showers are unavailable

🚻 An accessible toilet remains available and three portable toilets are located near the building for your convenience.

👷 These works will deliver upgraded, modern facilities, including improved accessibility and a new Parent’s Room.

The Centre remains open as usual (excluding areas under construction). While we’ll aim to minimise disruption, some noise is expected during construction.

Please note that timelines may shift slightly due to weather or unforeseen building conditions.

It was a privilege for the Gawler Sport & Community Centre to host yesterday’s Civic Reception welcoming participants of the Overland to Darwin & Back 1926–2026 historic re-enactment ✈️🚗

The event commemorated 100 years since Australia’s first commercial transcontinental passenger service led by Captain Bagot, with guests enjoying vintage vehicles, rare historical footage from the original 1926 journey, and stories from organisers about the incredible trip and fundraising efforts supporting the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

A wonderful community event as part of South Australia’s History Festival.

Toilet Upgrade Works🚧

Please be advised that upgrade works to the toilet facilities at the Gawler Sport and Community Centre are still in progress.

To keep the centre running smoothly, works will are being completed in two stages:
Stage 1: Female toilets and toilets adjacent to the Youth Shak
Stage 2: Male and accessible toilets

This staged approach ensures an accessible toilet remains available at all times. Three portable toilets will also be installed near the building for added convenience.

👷 What’s happening?
These works will deliver a refreshed, modern and more accessible space, including:
• Improved layout to meet current accessibility standards
• Full refurbishment of male, female and accessible toilets
• New Parent’s Room

The Centre will remain open and operational throughout the works (excluding toilets under construction). While we’ll aim to minimise disruption, some noise is expected during demolition and construction.
